For Frigidaire Dispenser Control Board (Part Number: OEM11880183)

Dom for Model Number FRS23KF6DB0

My dad was fixing the leaky water dispenser and after a couple tries was successful, unfortunately, during the "Fixing" water came flying out (I believe the new pipes helped dispense the water a bit faster) and landed on the ribbon cable and the Dispenser Control Board. Now whenever the ribbon cable is connected to the Dispenser Control Board, the refrigerator will randomly start and stop dispensing water on its own. (almost like a flickering light, but less frequent) I'm not sure what needs to be done but since the Dispenser Control Board was still receiving power from the "Board Power", I was thinking I need to replace the ribbon cable and the Dispenser Control Board? Here's a picture of the problem pieces if it helps. https://i.imgur.com/7q5iA8g.jpg

A couple days ago my dad was fixing the leaky water dispenser and after a couple tries was successful, unfortunately, during the "Fixing" water came flying out (I believe the new pipes helped dispense the water a bit faster) and landed on the ribbon cable and the connected Dispenser Control Board. Now whenever he connects the ribbon cable to the Control Board, it will randomly start and stop dispensing water on its own. I'm thinking that since the Dispenser Control Board is still receiving power from the Board Power Part, I should only need to replace the Dispenser Control Board and the Ribbon Cable connecting the two.

Hello Jeremy! If you have a meter you can test for voltage at the water valve when the icemaker is calling for water. If no voltage is present you'll need to replace the icemaker 241798231. If you have voltage, you'll need to replace the water valve 242252702. Thank you!

Hello Kevin. If the icemaker and water valve are new, check for a frozen fill tube and make sure temp is 0 to 5°. Also make sure icemaker is turn on.

Kathy, This issue sound like it would be more likely that the water valve is not shutting off when the lever is released for the dispenser after getting water. This issue would most likely be caused by the dual water valve 218832401.

Chris, You will want to check the wiring harness at the door hinge to make sure that there are no broken or loose connections. If this checks ok then the issue will be a faulty dispenser power board 241708102.

The Frigidaire in the company break room stopped working a couple of years ago. I decided to look at it today. At this point, the tray will not fill up with water, when the arm is moved to the one position. The turning part in the ice maker assembly does turn. Also, the dispenser panel does not light up, and nothing works. I pulled out the ribbon and put it back in. Then I plugged in and tried it. The dispenser lights up, but the tray sounds as if it is trying to crush ice (which there is none) constantly. I'm not sure how to test if the issue on the front panel is the ribbon or dispenser control, and the water filling, I don't know where to start. Thanks for any information.

Jay, This issue with the dispenser would most likely caused by a faulty dispenser control board which is part number 241708202. For the icemaker the issue will be most likely caused by a faulty water valve.

I have no operation of the ice/water dispenser. Press any of the buttons and nothing. I have checked all that I know to check. Have power at the dispenser.Checked all connections and lite switch. I have power to the board mounted to the dispenser (transformer board). Would I be better of trying a ribbon connector or the dispenser board . Please note the face plate mounting area is broken so the face plate has come loose a couple times. this is why i am thinking the ribbon might be the culprit.

Wes, The ribbon harness could certainly be the issue but would say that the power board on the dispenser would be the more likely culprit for this issue.
