Don E. January 22, 2017 for Model Number 10656832600 Water dispenser not working. None of the switches' controls light up. Ice maker works fine but will not dispense. This only happens Intermittently. When you remove the ice storage, the water dispenser controls light up and everything works.
1 Answer Hello Don, This sounds like a possible harness issue. I would check the harness at the door hinge first for the issue since this is a common issue where the harness bends every time the door is opened and closed. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Bob. You need to remove the front cover off the dispenser on the freezer door to access and replace the dispenser control board 241708309. Read More...
Jim C. July 24, 2016 for Model Number GLHS66EJSBO I have a Frigidaire Model # GLHS66EJSB0 refrigerator. There was a power outage and when restored, the ice maker only dispenses crushed ice but makes a very loud noise like an internal mechanism is breaking apart! Water dispenser works normally. I've replaced both the Crushed/Cubed Ice Solenoid and the augur motor but the problem wasn't resolved. Ice maker makes ice, and with the freezer door ajar, when I rotate the control rod manually (under the ice container) cubed ice falls from the ice container but doesn't dispense from the door.
1 Answer Hello Jim, This is mosty likely the main power dispenser control board 241708202. Check all connections including the one at the freezer door hinge and the ribbon cable before ordering parts. Read More...
Rudy July 09, 2016 for Model Number 253.55693402 I was repairing the water dispenser and accidentally pulled the ribbon that conects both control panels and I probably had damaged it. Do you sell the ribbon itself?
Will March 21, 2016 for Model Number GLHS36EJSB0 Our ice dispenser for no apparent reason will switch from cubed ice to crushed ice without making a selection, When it does change by itself pressing the cube selection will not make a difference. eventually it will change back on its own. We have no control over the type of ice we want. The panel will indicate a selection is changed but the ice doesnt change. All other controls work fine and the water dispenser works well. Thanks for your help
1 Answer Will, The 241708309 Dispenser Control Board is the most likely problem, based on your post information. It has miniature buttons on it, that when pressed to close the circuit and activate the relays on the Power Control Board to activate the auger motor and shifter solenoid to dispense crushed or cubed ice. If the switch doesn't set and lock in place, or the board circuits don't remain completed, the control will revert back to the original selection. Read More...
Cold Hands January 17, 2016 for Model Number GLHS66EFSB3 I have a frigidaire that the auger motor doesn't turn. it works when put the water wires on and press the water paddle . i replaced the harness that a repairman suggested but doesn't work i'm thinking it is the control board nu ap3960058 Thanks
1 Answer Cold hands, You will want to check the dispenser lever for the ice and make sure that there is no damage to the lever and that it is making contact with the switch when it is pushed in. If the lever is making contact with the switch then the issue would most likely be in the switch and not the control board. Read More...
Diy-Dan December 21, 2015 for Model Number GLRS237ZAB7 Refrigerator water dispenser stopped working. Ice is still being produced and ice dispenser works properly. When the water dispenser is pressed no water comes out. I do hear the humming sound just like when water was dispensed. Light turns on when the water dispenser paddle is depressed. New water filter installed also. Old filter was working fine before it stopped working. Any ideas would be appreciated.
1 Answer Diy Dan, You will want to take the kickplate off and disconnect the water line at the bottom of the door. After it is disconnected, push the water dispenser lever and see if water comes from the tube that comes from under the unit. If there is water that comes out then the water line in the door is frozen and will need to be thawed. Read More...
Terri November 08, 2015 for Model Number 25355699407 I was fixing a cosmetic freezer door problem which was caused by the ice/water dispenser leaking water which resulted in bubbling out of paint and rusting the door. When I removed the faceplate for the dispenser, I accidentally disconnected the ribbon which connects the two control boards. When I reconnected (without turning off the power - my bad), the ice maker auger will not stop turning, dumping ice into the external chute. I've removed the microswitches completely, but if both boards are connected by the ribbon cable, the auger will not shut off. I was about to order both boards (241708309 and 241689101) when I saw a question from a user who had the same problem and replaced both boards, and this didn't fix it. A response on this site suggested testing a wiring harness at the bottom of the door for a short. I am wondering if this could apply to my model, and also how to do this, and wondering if I can do this before I order and try the boards (and if not, if the boards are indeed returnable if they don't fix the problem). Thanks
1 Answer Hello Terri, This does apply to your unit and the wiring harness 240552102 is at the bottom freezer door. The connector should be checked for moisture, discoloration, and malformation from heat, (heat is produced by a loose or shorting connection). All of the parts we sell are refundable for one year from the date of delivery with the exception of the shipping charge. Simply call us and give the model and serial number of the unit the part was for, and our representative can set up a return authorization. Read More...
Jc July 09, 2015 for Model Number FRS6LF7FWB The ice dispenser and freezer light both stopped working at the same time. The ice maker works fine. Tested door switch for continuity and it is ok. Tested power at switch as it is getting power. Tested bulb and it is ok. What do you suggest the issue could be?
1 Answer Hello JC. It sounds like you either have a control board issue or a wiring issue. You will need to test and trace the wiring and see where your losing voltage at. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Dariusz May 26, 2015 for Model Number FRSHT5EFW2 We had electric line problem, shortage which caused low voltage, on the line where refrigerator was connected. It is still working cooling, it's making ice, but the switches on the door don't work, no lights, it's not dispensing ice, nor water. I think it could be the dispenser control board AP3960058, I saw from your responses it could be the dispenser power board AP3960035 too. Please help to solve the problem, thank you
1 Answer Hello Dariusz. You will need to test the dispenser power board and see if it is supplying power to the dispenser. If not, the dispenser power board will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
