Jt April 22, 2015 for Model Number Frigidaire FRS6LC8FS3 Our ice dispenser motor won't stop running. It's like someone is continuously pressing down on the lever, filling up the chute. For a while, it would stop when you pressed the switch that turned off the light inside the freezer, now it's just turning off and on at random. It makes ice just fine; we just can't get the motor to behave.
1 Answer JT, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty power board on the dispenser which will be part number 241708102. Read More...
Walt February 13, 2015 for Model Number FRS6LF7FWB My tube that dispenses the water slipped out of the hole, so I took it apart reinserted it and started to put it back together (did not unplug the fridge, oops) I think I may have shorted it out. I replaced 241708309 board. Put it back together and nothing. Replaced the ribbon and the ice maker won't shut off. Replaced 241708202 board and still the ice maker won't shut off. I even unplugged the little black ice maker switch behind the 241708202 board. After spending $250 in parts I am at wits end. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Walt, You will want to check the wiring harness that connects at the bottom of the door for shorts as this will most likely be the issue with the unit. Read More...
Daryl January 29, 2015 for Model Number frs6l7ees1 The ice maker has quit working. Put water in ice maker dispenser manually and it will not push the ice out. And second the ice/water dispenser in the door works, but it crushes ice in crush mode and also when cube button is pushed. Thanks daryl
1 Answer Daryl, With the issue of the icemaker not pushing the cubes out once formed would be a faulty thermostat on the icemaker and the icemaker would need to be replaced. For the crusher issue, pull out the bin and check to make sure that the arm for the solenoid in the back of the unit is moving up and down properly. Read More...
Dano January 07, 2015 for Model Number GLHS66EESB4 Had a water line frozen that kept water from dispensing. I tried to get to the line at the top to try a hairdryer (hint - I should have just unplugged and let nature melt). When I took off the faceplate, the ribbon cable came out of the faceplate board. After trying to fix the water line, I put the ribbon cable back in and things appeared ok. Next day, the auger started running after the freezer door was opened and closed. Tried to turn off the ice maker, pressed the door switch and ice maker back on and things were ok. Happened once more about a week or two later. Then tonight, I couldn't get it to stop without disconnecting the ribbon cable. I think I may need to replace the ribbon and the control board that is in the faceplate (not the one that I think is the power board that is in the freezer door). I've read where it might be the microswitch for the ice dispenser, but thinking the other two are more likely?
1 Answer Hello Dano, This is most likely caused by drinks splattering into the dispense area from ice being dispensed into the drinks. This can be caused by the microswitches 241689106 or the PC board 241708202. Read More...

Tim S. October 06, 2014 for Model Number FRS26LF7DS2 Ice maker quit working, when you cycle the ice maker and it calls for water the water comes out the water dispencer tube on the door. Checked connections they are color coded and water tubes are different sizes everything seems to be correct there. What can I check to try and solve this problem? Water in the door works fine when you push the plunger for water.

Steve September 19, 2014 for Model Number GLHS66EEQ4 Started when getting ice or water it would snap loudly and the light would go on and off. Connie P. August 29, 2014 for Model Number FRS6LF7FS6 The front cover of the dispenser fell off the door and the strip/cord that attaches the 2 boards got unplugged. It looks like it's factory sealed because I can't plug it back in. It makes contact the lights inside the board light up but when the buttons are pressed nothing works or the ice dispenser dispenses non stop. I guess I need a new board but not sure about the part number.
1 Answer Connie, The 241680002 ribbon cable can be difficult to install back onto the boards, but it is doable, just be careful. The strange part is the façade "fell" off the refrigerator door, it's usually help in place by tabs inserted into slots on the dispenser body and three screws along the bottom trim, behind or under the drip tray. Based on your post information, you're close on target. the 241708309Dispenser Control Board contains the buttons that make the selection, then the actuator switch activates the circuit when the paddle is pressed. you need to check the paddles and the actuator switch 241689106 to determine which switch is sticking or not aligned properly. Nick November 13, 2013 for Model Number Kenmore Elite If I unplug the refrigerator and plug it back in, the water dispenser allows water to flow out of the dispenser. The only way I can stop the water is to press the stop button for several seconds. What do you think needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Hello Nick. Either the dispenser switch or board is bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
