Luckey February 19, 2013 for Model Number Kenmore 79578302804 My Kenmore french door bottom freezer is not working (absolutely nothing). I checked the power cord and it has power, I checked the mother board and it has power and looks brand new, I even pushed the test button and still nothing. I the problem the Starter relay or the Fridg Capacitator? Can you help!!
1 Answer Hello Luckey, You may want to check the fuse on the control board for being bad. If you have no lights, fans or any type of power going into the unit then this is most likely the problem. This would require replacing control board. Read More...
Dotty January 30, 2013 for Model Number MFC05M1BWO I have a Kelvinator compact chest freezer that's been unplugged for a few years. Tried plugging in and will not run. What could it be?
1 Answer Hello Dotty. Check for bad wiring and if none is found, you may have a bad temp control 5304496560 and need to replace it in the unit. Read More...
Wade January 25, 2013 for Model Number frigidaire r134a? model is unknown.standard upright refrigerator The refrigerator is not cold, but the motor runs and air comes out at the right places. Having fixed a refrigerator with a part from your store, I took off the comperable part from this refrigerator and found out it is called a compressor run capacitor. Frigidaire number 216236200. could this be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Wade, The run capacitor normally would not be the cause of the compressor not running. The start relay would be the most likely suspect. You would want to check the start relay for burn marks or melted spots on the casing. Read More...
Paul December 08, 2012 for Model Number FRS26ZRG My refirgerator/freezer stopped cooling...lots of lost food. I've checked all the normal things, eg, defroster, turned the temperature control up, unpluged and plug back in, etc. Both the circulating fan and the coil fan are working, but the compressor ill not come on. Could it be a bad capacitor?
1 Answer Hello Paul, Check the start relay 5304426651 to see if you see any burn or melted looking areas on it. This is more than likely what will cause compressor to not come on and if the start relay is good then you would have a bad compressor. Read More...
Chan December 02, 2012 for Model Number Frigidaire frs26rlecse My frigidaire side by side started making a buzzing noise today. I got down behind it and it begins with a click starts buzzing for a few seconds then clicks again and stops. This happens about every 5-10min. I think it's coming from the overload relay. But I'm not sure. How can I fix this?

Jimmy October 29, 2012 for Model Number FFU21M7HW (freezer upright) After 1 and 1/2 years I just defrosted this upright freezer. Afterwards, I turned the unit on and after a few days (3 to 5) it started to produce a humming noise every 3 to 5 seconds. The unit still works and this noise stops only for a period of 5 minutes or less. What part do you think I need to replace to have the noise removed? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Jimmy, This sounds like you have a bad start relay. Unplug the unit and slide the start device off of the side of the compressor. If it rattles when you shake it, the ceramic disk in the start relay has shattered and the start device 216954236 requires replacement. Read More...
Daddyrog October 24, 2012 I have a Kenmore upright frost free freezer that works great until I have a power failure. Even a flicker of power loss and the freezer quits and won't work until I unplug it for a few minutes, then it's fine until another power loss. I've been unpluging it like this for 2 years. All has been good but now my son is living in the house where it is located and I am affraid he will forget to reset it when power fails. I was just wondering if a capacitor will fix it.
1 Answer Hello, This sounds like the control isn't resetting properly. The run capacitor would have nothing to do with this or it wouldn't start after it shuts off when the thermostat is satisfied. If the unit has no electronic control, the issue will be with the temperature control or the start device. I could go into better detail if a model number had been listed. Read More...
Kevin October 09, 2012 for Model Number Frigidaire UFD-18-63 I have a very old (1963) upright Frigidaire freezer that has begun to have problems. It has started to click every couple of minutes and compressor isn't coming on. The clicking is coming from a black box just behind and to the right of the thermostat control knob at the lower front right of freezer. Is this the start relay and if so, is it possible to replace it? I'm not sure even how to remove it - seems to have a metal bar/wire running down its center.
1 Answer Hello Kevin. Use needle nose pliers to remove the wire from the unit. It has clips at the top and bottom securing it. Then you can pull off the start device and test it. Cloud August 06, 2012 for Model Number frs26znhb3 compressor, condensor fan, and evapor fan does not work, but the lights does what,s wrong
1 Answer Hello Cloud. Check and make sure the timer is not stuck in defrost by turning the timer and advancing it. If not, you may have a bad cold control 5303300027 and it is not starting the unit to run. Test for voltage going out of the control to the compressor and fan motors. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
