Daniel June 21, 2018 for Model Number Haier HBE18WACWW I need the start relay & overload for my refrigerator.
1 Answer Hello Daniel, I'm sorry but it appears the start relay, overload, and compressor have all been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Rich March 17, 2018 for Model Number United commercial heavy duty freezer (not sure of app #) For years no problems, I happen to hear one day the compressor running steady for along time, not cycling. I open the door and its cold but not frozen. I also noticed that when I closed the door, I'm not hearing the sound it makes when it "vacuum seals" the door? The rubber door strip is fine. Is there some sort of a relay switch that may have burned out? Thanks
1 Answer Rich, Unfortunately we would not have any information on United Commercial freezers to be able to assist with your question properly. Read More...
Bruce March 06, 2018 for Model Number SX23VE Bottom of both freezer & fridge get cold warm on top defrosted it works for a couple days then quits blowing cold at the top again would the run capacitor cause this
1 Answer Bruce, If you defrosted the unit and it worked good then this would most likely be an issue with the defrost system and will want to check the defrost heater and thermostat for continuity. If they have continuity then they are good and the defrost control will be the issue. Read More...
Shaun February 20, 2018 for Model Number FKCH17F7HWD I just replaced a capacitor and compressor start relay on my fridgidaire freezer, approximately how long should I wait to see cooling / freezing. I replaced them after my freezer thawed out when a door was left open, I can't really hear any noise from my compressor but before I changed the components the compressor was warm to the touch. This freezer has always run very quiet but how do I know nothing else is damaged.
1 Answer Shaun, If the compressor is still not running after replacing the overload and relay then this will be a compressor issue. If the compressor is running then check the frost pattern on the evaporator coils to make sure that the coils are getting an even frost pattern top to bottom. If no frost pattern and compressor running then this will be a sealed system issue. You will want to give the unit 24 hours to obtain proper temperature. Read More...
Sep January 04, 2018 I have a display refrigerator that stopped cooling. The set up is a 1/5 Hp compressor, a 10uF run capacitor, and a condenser fan. I couldn't hear if the compressor was running so I manually started it and it ran and began cooling but when I put the fan back into play the temperature starts to rise again. Is it possible that the compressor is just not spinning fast enough?? The compressor does get real hot when the fan is not in line but the fridge temperature does drop significantly, but when fan is put back in line the compressor cools down but the fridge temperature rises. Any ideas?? Thanks.
1 Answer Sep, The fan should have no bearing on the refrigerator rising temps as long as the compressor is running. The capacitor on the compressor is just a trickle run capacitor in which it would not cause this issue and the only other thing that would potentially cause this is if the compressor is not starting on its own would be a bad relay. Vince P November 25, 2017 for Model Number PLHS269ZCB1 Our freezer fan/motor has trouble starting- runs, shuts off, runs, shuts off....Takes several attempts before it starts running and stays running. Then seems to run for a LONG time.
1 Answer Vince, If the compressor is taking several attempts to start then check to make sure that the condenser fan is running. If it is running then this issue would most likely be caused by a faulty start relay. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Joe, You will either have an air leak around the door seal 5304507201, a bad control board 297370600, or a bad thermistor 297018400. Read More...
Moises October 09, 2017 for Model Number FGUS2642LF1 My refrigerator (both freezer and refrigerator) seem to have trouble staying cold throughout the day, especially during the summer. It hardly ever reaches the temperature settings during the day. It only reaches and stays at the set temperature's overnight. Could it be the compressor run capacitor?
1 Answer Hello Moises, You should make sure the condenser fan is running at full speed and the air flow is not blocked by lint/dust on the condenser coils. If good, remove the rear wall of the freezer compartment to view the frost pattern. It should be even from top to bottom. If there is a clump of ice at the top of the coils, this indicates a Freon loss and will need a Freon certified technician for the sealed system diagnosis and repair. As a note, if the unit is in a garage or on a porch, (especially in the sun), it should not be expected to maintain proper temperatures since the hot coils must be in an atmosphere cool enough for the unit to operate properly, (75° to 80°F is as warm an atmosphere as the unit can tolerate for normal operating temperatures to occur). Robert October 08, 2017 for Model Number 2539163210 My freezer started thawing, I unplugged it for about 30 minutes and plugged it back in and it froze up again and worked fine for a few hours then started to thaw again, it seems like it works fine until it kicks off, then when it comes back on won't cool again until you unplug it for a while, Can you tell me what is wrong?
1 Answer Hello Robert. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the temp control 5304421174 is bad on the unit. Sorry, but this part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
Joe July 15, 2017 for Model Number FRT22IRSHB3 My freezer works but my refrigerator has problems staying cold. What could be the likely fault?
1 Answer Hello Joe. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
