Tarrinzo, If the control board is not responding and automatically turned to the off position on its own then the control board would need to be replaced. The part number for the control is 297235200.

Upright freezer went off and lost three-fourths of what was in it. Power failure light was on along with high temp. Checked breaker, unplugged and replugged after 5 minutes. No luck still showing same problems. Bought new freezer. While waiting for delivery rechecked everything again including wiggled wiring at bottom of door, capacitor, compressor, plugged unit in opened door, light inside blinking quickly and compressor short cycling with light. Pushed light switch in and unit stopped short cycling. Is it the light switch and/or the control board and /or the electronic control ? Any help appreciated, especially now that I have two freezers.

Hello Frank, This is most likely the control board 297235200. There is the possibility of a damaged harness at the door hinge. The unit should work fine with the interior light inoperative since this circuit is not a part of the cooling circuit.

Hello Gilbert, I would get behind the unit and make sure the drain tube is still properly connected. It will sometime drop off and without the trap filled with water, the air inside the unit does not contract as before and the suction sound is not heard. Otherwise, check the ice door and the seal around the doors.

Hello Steve. Precision Set Control Assembly Removal The Precision Set control assembly is mounted inside the front of the door assembly and is secured in position with retaining latches. To remove the Precision Set control assembly: 1. Disconnect power to freezer. 2. Using a small flat bladed screwdriver or equivalent tool, carefully pry under the bezel until the retaining latches release from the door assembly. Pull control assembly straight out to avoid damaging the electrical connection wire prongs. To install the Precision Set control assembly: 1. Push control in gently with the palm of your hand. You may need to slightly adjust the bezel position up or down to align connector pins. 2. Gently push control flush to door with palm of hand.

I just got this freezer. It worked, but I had to replace the door switch. Everything seemed fine. I let it run overnight and the next morning I was experimenting with the buttons on the control unit. It was in the extreme freeze mode and I adjusted the temperature control up and down. Suddenly, the display showed "OF". Now the only thing on the control panel that seems to be operative is the lock and unlock feature. I checked the internet to see how to turn it back on and it did not work. Even with the panel in the unlock mode no other buttons are responding to touch.
