Shawn January 17, 2017 for Model Number AGQ6700FS2 My dryer will not heat up, I don't see the ignitor glowing red nor do I hear the click of the gas valve opening. Could it be a thermal fuse? Thank you
2 Answers Hello Shawn, This can be the ignitor 5304517325, the centrifugal switch in the motor 131560100, the gas valve 5303207409, the control board 134557201NH, the thermistor 134587700, the flame sensor 5303281135, the thermal limiter 137032600, the high limit thermostat [5308015399] or the harness. As you can see, any component in the heating circuit can cause this. You need to use a test meter to test the components to determine the cause of the issue. Read More...
Cindy October 27, 2016 for Model Number EIMED55IIW0 Vent got clogged and now dryer won't start. Got E66 error. I believe it's the limiter that has been tripped/burned out. Can you confirm this? Also, how do I go about finding it on this model?
1 Answer Cindy, The thermal limiter would be located on the side of the ducting assembly inside the unit and is part number 134711401. Read More...
John Clark August 01, 2016 for Model Number EWMED70JSSO Front load Electrolux electric dryer power supply was not disconnected when cleaning. When removing the door panel, a cabinet front clip mounting, 137034500 fell and hit door switch harness resulting in error message, "door not closed." Control board replaced, 809160302, control board 809160410, for lack of continuity. Still says "door not closed." Planning on replacing limiter 137032600, and door switch 134813660. Do you have any other suggestions of parts to replace before I place my order? Maybe the door switch electrical harness 134793200?
1 Answer John, It would not be likely that the harness is the issue, although you could test it for continuity to make sure that it is good. The switch is the most likely cause for the failure on this unit. Read More...
Todd S October 05, 2014 for Model Number Frigidaire Affinity FAQE7072LWO My dryer tumbles with Heat but after a few minutes it stops and codes E64. We restart until the clothes are dry. I have not checked the heating element with a meter but it seems to be heating up. What could it be? Cycle limiter? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Todd, You will want to check the wiring and the thermostats as the error code that is coming up is a heater open circuit. If the wiring and thermostats test ok then the main control board would be the issue with the unit. Read More...
Sergio V May 18, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore 417.98042701 What part would I replace since the dryer constantly beeps even though the wet clothes were just placed in the dryer and it is the filter light that keep lighting up but the filter is empty.
1 Answer Sergio, Normally when the filter light is flashing and the unit is beeping would be caused by an air flow issue. If the unit senses that the air is not flowing properly then it will kick on the light. You will want to check the venting from the blower wheel all the way to the outside of the home to ensure that the vent is clear and there can be proper air flow. Read More...
Ron May 15, 2014 for Model Number EIED55HMBO Dryer does not heat. I removed the canister thinking there was a broken wire and I was going to have my daughter order a new element. The wires passed a continuity test on all terminals. The only other parts are the thermostat which passed a continuity test but the limiter did not. Is that the likely culprit for no heat.
1 Answer Hello Ron, If the limiter is open the heating element will not be energized so you have located your issue. Be aware though, the limiter is normally opened because of an air flow issue caused by a restriction or clog in the exhaust duct, so you will need to verify the duct has a full 4 inch opening from the rear of the unit to the outside of the home. Brandon November 08, 2012 for Model Number FGR641FS2 My dryer runs, but does not heat. Most troubleshooting says to clean everything, which I have. And the next most likely cause is a fuse. The only thing I am seeing is the Limiter (137032600). Is this the only other thing I can check?? It worked fine yesterday, and the dryer is only 4 years old.
1 Answer Hello Brandon. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter and make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Kbork August 04, 2012 for Model Number agq600es4 I ordered a thermal limiter and was wondering if I have to take the back of my dryer to replace the part or do I go through the front
1 Answer Hello kbork. You remove the top of the dryer to replace the limiter 137032600. Make sure the power is disconnected on the unit. Read More...
Dick T. May 21, 2012 for Model Number White West WGQ332 HS1 Is this limiter the humidity sensor that is supposed to shut off the heat cycle? If this part is functioning properly, what else would keep the dryer from shutting down when the load is dry? Thanks, Dick
1 Answer Hello Dick, You need to check the high limit thermostat 5308015399 and the thermal limiter 137032600 for continuity. If they test good, the timer 5303297139 is probably the issue as there are two sets of contacts in the timer which apply voltage to the timer motor. Unless there is a harness problem, this is the logical diagnosis. Read More...
