Mattp June 04, 2014 for Model Number FAS255P2A1 Unit cools, but only when set at 71 or cooler. Then will not cycle off until you turn up to 75 or higher. Then will not cool back down. I replaced the thermistor/thermostat, but it has made no difference. I was told to replace the pc board, but there are 2 listed and no description of which would help. Do you know if board #5304447801 or #5304480623 would be the right one for the issue I'm having. The unit cools nicely, but I really need the temps to adjust and work right without all of the manual labor involved. Thanks
1 Answer Matt, The control board that would most likely be the culprit for your issue would be part number 5304480623. Read More...
Billy H May 08, 2014 for Model Number LRA157MT114 I turned my air condition off and I could hear something running. The fan was off but the compressor was still running. I had to unplug it. So I plug it up again the compressor was still running but had to turn the fan on with remote. It still get cold and run fine. But the compressor will not kick off no matter what I set the temperature for. Thanks billyTHANKS BILLY
1 Answer Billy, The cause of the compressor continually running is normally caused by a faulty main control board 5304492070. Read More...
Harold April 14, 2014 for Model Number LRA187MT2 Took apart to clean, put back together everthing seems to work except compresser will only run for 3 to 4 minutes and compresser cuts off.all lights in pc board works but could it be bad?
1 Answer Harold, The issue would most likely not be with the control board of the unit but more likely with the capacitor or a restriction in the sealed system of the unit. If the unit was working fine before cleaning it I would check for loose or broken wires and check the compressor run capacitor to make sure that it is good. Read More...
Gil April 03, 2014 for Model Number LRA257ST2 I have a 25000 btu that is a couple years old. Last year it started cutting off on its own. I have made sure the fan etc is moving freely and can actually spin the motor and it will start and run for a while. It is almost like the motor can't decide which direction to turn. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Gil. Test the pc board 5304492070 and see if the relays are not working properly in the unit. If not, replace the pc board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Marty September 04, 2013 for Model Number 253.70151014 sears kenmore The cover was removed to be cleaned, when it was put back together unit won't come on. A/C worked before this was done. When unit is plugged in, it beeps, display comes on for 3 seconds and goes out. Hitting the on/off switch does nothing. Checked the pin connection, looks ok visually. Is it the PC board on the cover or the circuit board in the unit?
1 Answer Hello Marty. Look for a stuck button, wet part, or a bad board in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Doug Poskey August 27, 2013 for Model Number LRA157MT1 This A/C has been used for about 1 month last year in August by a renter. It was returned to me and I recently took it out of the box to turn it on. It does not work at all when it is plugged in and only makes a "beep". I was told that the PC part #'s were AP4558681 and the main one is AP4513628. My phone conversation led us to our opinion that the problem was probably the ...681 because nothing works. I would like your opinion because I would like to get the part if you are quite certain (not totally) what the problem is. Also, I do not have a manual and need to know how to change PC board. Thanks.
1 Answer Doug, The display PCB does sound like it could be the issue. To replace the pcb you will need to remove the front cover. There are 3 or 4 screws that hold the assembly on behind the air filter. Once removed you will pull the unit out of the casing and remove the screw holding the pcb in place. You will also need to remove the cover on the control area where the main control would be. Disconnect the wire harness between the 2 and install the new display pcb. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Donni. It sounds like the control panel is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...

Carlos May 24, 2013 for Model Number LRA157MT! Is my compressor, which does not shut off, controlled by the Pc Board (AP4558681)? Or does some other part control it?
1 Answer Carlos, Yes, the control board 5304477181 does supply power to the compressor, and you may have a stuck relay. But you also have two thermistors 5304512375 and 5304471276 that communicate with the control and turns the compressor on or off. you need to check these as well. If the compressor won't shut off, it could be that the thermistors are not reading the correct resistance and the compressor is trying to cool, even though it has reached the temperature selected.
