The Drain Pump Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire dishwashers. It plays a critical role in the dishwasher's operation by removing the used water at the end of each wash cycle, ensuring the machine is ready for the next load. This assembly includes the pump that powers the expulsion of water, along with any necessary housing and fittings to connect it securely to the dishwasher's system.

Causes of a bad part can vary from clogs formed by food particles or other debris, to mechanical failure of the pump motor itself.

Symptoms of a bad Drain Pump Assembly include:

  • Water not draining properly from the dishwasher
  • Unusual noises coming from the pump area
  • The dishwasher fails to start a wash cycle due to the system detecting water from a previous cycle still inside.

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Hello Jesse, The only lubricant used during assembly is liquid soap. Anything else could cause "O" ring premature failure. If there are no clogs and the filters are clean the drain pump 154580301 is the obvious suspect. Anytime the circulation pump is removed the "O" rings should both be replaced, (the new circulation pump 154844101 will include these "O" rings.

New at this, You will want to put the unit on a drain cycle and test for 120 vac to the drain pump. If there is 120 vac to the drain pump but not removing the water then the drain is faulty. If there is no power to the pump then the issue will be the control board.

Hello Matt, Since this is an ac motor and is not polarized, the motor will run normally with the wires in either position. Swapping them will have no negative effect on the motors' operation.
