The Drain Pump Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire dishwashers. It plays a critical role in the dishwasher's operation by removing the used water at the end of each wash cycle, ensuring the machine is ready for the next load. This assembly includes the pump that powers the expulsion of water, along with any necessary housing and fittings to connect it securely to the dishwasher's system.

Causes of a bad part can vary from clogs formed by food particles or other debris, to mechanical failure of the pump motor itself.

Symptoms of a bad Drain Pump Assembly include:

  • Water not draining properly from the dishwasher
  • Unusual noises coming from the pump area
  • The dishwasher fails to start a wash cycle due to the system detecting water from a previous cycle still inside.

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Drain Pump Assembly (Part Number: OEM17071302)

Hello Kin, If you can put 120Vac on the pump and it runs, you will either have a clog in the drain or a screen or you have a bad control that is not sending voltage to the drain pump. We could assist further in the diagnosis with the model number from the units' I.D. tag.

Hello DHarrison. That is installed into the sump assembly to prevent back washing into the sump assembly.

Richard for Model Number FFBD2405KB0A

The water in the bottom of the dishwasher never drains. Not at all. I have checked the drain tube from both ends. Under the dishwasher when I loosen the clamp water comes out. When I loosen the clamp on the end under the sink I can blow into it and bubbles come up in the bottom of the dishwasher where the water is. The ball under the volute cover is there and not stuck. The float can move up and down freely. I am not sure what is causing this problem. I order part number 154783201, a control from you guys, thinking this would solve the problem but it did not. Please let me know A.S.A.P. what I can do to fix this.

Marlar for Model Number FFBD2407LMO8

Went to unload dishwasher after cleaning cycle was completed, noticed that soap tablet did not dissolve. Restarted unit pump would run constantly then shut off this cycle continued for about 30 minutes. Noticed water leaking form under fascia plate .The water was leaking(steady stream) from a small pin hole in a metal bracket that secures pump. Disconnected water feed, drain tube and power supply .,Pulled out washer looks like the pump is connected to a round plate that mounts to bottom. The Bummer is this unit has been leaking for awhile flooring is warped(laminate)dishwasher probably has not been used no more than 30 times the unit is in a vacation home that was built around 2 years ago. Contemplating repairing if leak source can verified or just purchase another dishwasher other than a Frigidaire product . Thanks again for your help.

Marlar, It sounds like the issue may just be a bad seal around the drain pump and you would want to replace the seals. This is common in vacation homes where the unit sits and is not run regularly, the seal will dry out and then cause the leaking issue.

Hello Roland. It is best to uninstall the unit and lay it n it's back. Then there is a locking tab you release and the drain pump motor will twist to remove from the sump. Make sure you unplug the wires from the pump.

Hello Myron. It is not to hard to replace the pump motor. Just uninstall the dishwasher. Pull the unit out and flip it over on it's back. Then you can access and replace the pump on the unit. Make sure you check for leaks after installing the pump and dishwasher.

Steve, You will want to check to make sure that the impeller on the dishwasher is not damaged and make sure that there is nothing clogged in the pump or the drain line. If these check ok then you would need to check to make sure that there is power getting to the pump and if not then check wiring to the control board and if wiring is ok then replace the control board. If there is power to the pump then replace the pump.

Hello Lisa. Here is the issue, first the water should not be backing up to drain back into the unit, so that is plumbing. Also, there should be a loop in the top of the drain hose of the dishwasher to make an air gap. And last, but most important, the flapper 807048001 in the sump is bad and this is allowing the grey water to come back into the unit.

Hello Paul. You need to check and see if something is stuck inside the impeller assembly on the unit. If so, it will cause the unit to be very loud.
