The Door Strike is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. It is a critical component that interacts with the door latch, securing the washing machine door during operation. This ensures that the door remains closed and locked throughout the washing cycle, preventing water leaks and maintaining the safety and integrity of the appliance.

Symptoms of a bad Door Strike include:

  • The washing machine door not closing or locking properly,
  • The washer not starting due to the door not registering as closed,
  • Visible signs of damage or wear on the strike, such as cracking or deformation.

Causes of door strike failure typically involve physical damage from forceful closing of the washer door, general wear from repeated use, or material fatigue.

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

For Frigidaire Door Strike (Part Number: OEM13524828)

Rod for Model Number GLTF2940ES3

I have the frigidaire gallery series front loader washer. It will not go to high spin. The door lock mechanism appears to work fine, as the door lock light illuminates when start button is pushed. I filled the washer in normal wash cycle and then drained. The washer drained properly within 10-15 sec. The drain pump was replaced last month (Feb). I ran it through the entire drain/spin cycle and still no high spin. I tighten the door striker and still no high speed spin. What I did notice at the end of the drain/spin cycle (at the 2 minute point) was the time did not change from 2 minutes to 1 minute. The estimated time display stayed at 2 minutes. Is there a quick and easy fix to my dilemma?

Rod, You will want to put the unit into a diagnostic cycle per the tech sheet and see if there are any error codes stored which will lead to the issue. Also the door lock may lock but could still be faulty. If the door switch inside is not made it will not allow the unit to spin. There is a good possibility of this to be the issue.

Karleen, There is a door sag kit for the affinity washer that you will want to get in order to correct the door sagging issue. With the door being off by a 1/2" it may be necessary to replace the door hinge. The sag kit is part number 137309800.

Gail, The only way to get the strike out would be to use needle nose pliers to try to get out. If you are unable to remove the broken piece then the door lock will need to be replaced.

Karen, We would need the model number for your unit to be sure of which door strike will work. The most common one on the affinity would be 131763302.
