Hello Abe, If you look at the4 instruction sheet just below the paragraph that behind "STEP 2", it stated the models that will require wiring modifications. In the box it states: NOTE: This step is ONLY applicable for the following models: All bottom mount freezers and Encoder models with specific serial number prefixes. Since this unit has a start device on the compressor and has no encoder, (compressor board), you will need to perform NO modifications.

I am getting frost build up inside the freezer by the ice dispenser and the white tunnel where the ice comes down due to the flap not closing correctly as well as the rubber around the flap being crinkled. Can I simply replace this flap that closes off the air to the freezer when I am finished using the ice dispenser? Do you think that will remedy the problem? If so what is the part number for this part and is there a video I can access to replace it?

Alan, You will want to test the thermistors in the unit. The resistance of the thermistors should be 42.2K ohms at 0 degrees, 14.4K ohms at 36 degrees and 5K ohms at 77 degrees. If the resistance is off then replace the thermistor. If they check ok then check to make sure that the evaporator coils are not starting to ice up. If they are this would cause this issue and if they are then it is a defrost issue.

Bruce, The beeping may be caused by a issue with the temperature. You will want to check the temperature of the refrigerator and freezer and make sure that they are within range. Could be that the unit is not defrosting and the temp alarm is going off.

Freezer temp fluctuates from about -2 to sometimes as high as 20 depending on how often the doors are opened. If very seldom, the temp in the freezer is more steady maybe ranging from -2 to 6. Fresh food section more steady by can drift from set temp of 37 to 39 or 40. The compressor is running ( and does get very warm to the touch). I have replaced both freezer thermistors. I do hear both condenser and evaporator fan running. I have had resent service to fix a leak in the sealed system (drain pan aux line) and to recharge the unit but believe the temp fluctuation has been happening prior to that. I have also replaced the inverter board and freezer seals. I suspect the main board (WR55x10942) but was looking for confirmation before spending another $150. Any thoughts?

Bill, A normal operating temp for the freezer would be -5 to +5. With it getting to -2 this would be normal and if the freezer door is being opened regularly then it will cause the temp to fluctuate to a higher temp. If the door of the freezer is constantly being open and standing open then it would not be uncommon for it to get to 20 degrees. With the door not being opened regularly you are getting normal readings and when the door is being opened continuously then it is abnormal in which case would be a normal issue. As long as it is getting back to normal readings then the unit would be operating as expected.

Bob, Unfortunately this issue would not be caused by changing the control board in the refrigerator. You will want to contact your utility company about this issue and see if there has been any change in what they may be doing or possibly see if they can determine the cause. If you have electric heat and air. This may be the cause but there could be other things causing the issue.
