Richard, Here are instructions from the manufacturer. Removing Foceplote L. Turn the power off to the unit 2. Remove o knobs 3. Unscrew all faceplate retainers while holding the faceplate against the contro trim The retainers must only be hand tightened 4. The faceplate can now be removed. COOKTOP REMOVAL Before removing the cooktop the control panel must first be removed (reference section on control panel removal) The cooktop is fastened to the body side extensions with two (2) screws Remove the 2 screws and slide the cooktop assembly forward. Garth, the model number of the cartridge would be used to identify the element used. The model number can be found at the bottom of the cartridge when it is removed. For the coil elements, the 6" WB30M1 and 8" WB30M2 would be used.

Steve P, Since you are replacing the element I would recommend replacing the wire connector to keep a loose connection from damaging the new element.

Henry, Since the outer element does not work it is most common to be a burner issue. But the switch could also be a cause. The correct burner is [WB30T10099] and the switch is WB23M9 and WB24X449. It is a two-part switch.

FDR, This will need to be tested, If you have power to the full element and it does not heat then it would be the issue. If you don't have the full power to the element then the issue would be the switch.

Randy, with the range power cord unplugged, the left front infinite switch WB24T10153 can be tested for continuity from terminal P2 to terminal 4 when in the on position. If there is not continuity, the switch has failed. If there is continuity the element WB30T10133 has failed.
