Ted April 15, 2019 for Model Number JGBP28DED1CT The old igniter had separate wires. One to the valve and one with a spade connector. Since its an a/c component, can I splice either wire? It doesn't matter or is it d/c voltage at the igniter? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Ted, The wires can be swapped and the ignitor WB2X9154 will work the same way since this is not a polarized part. Read More...
Alanm October 31, 2018 for Model Number jgpb86web2ww The movie shows the repair person going to the back of the stove to detatch the old igniter and then to push the harness through a hole into the stove. My stove is in a tight space and it will be extremely difficult to pull out the stove. Can the old igniter be removed and the harness pushed through by going intothe front of the stove. Several users here seem to suggest that this is what they did but I am not certain they were referring to this igniter and my moder stove.
1 Answer Alan M., Your JGBP86WEB2WW range, may not be "exactly" the same as the range depicted in the video. Once you remove power to the range, remove the oven door, oven racks and oven bottom panel, You'll have a better idea. Then you can remove the flame spreader and go to work. The WB2X9154 / WB2X9154 RANGE OVEN IGNITER is a "kit" and comes with high temp. porcelain wire nuts. If you aren't able to access the connector or can't move the range. You can cut the connectors from the wires, measure the wires for a proper fit, and splice the two wires together using the wire nuts. be careful, the igniter is pretty fragile and can crack or break easily, once power is restored check the oven for ignition , heat, and operation. Freeman April 20, 2018 for Model Number RGB528er2wh i installed a new igniter WB2x9154 BUT it is slow to ignite the gas, there is to much of STRONG raw LP odor before it light up the oven. email me away to check, or replace this ingniter.
1 Answer Hello Freeman. If the ignitor is new, and you smell gas, then the burner needs to be removed and cleaned and make sure the hole are not rusted over. Read More...
Ken December 27, 2017 for Model Number JGBP28EEL1BB Is there a test I can do to see if the oven igniter is still good?
1 Answer Ken, If you test the igniter to make sure that it is getting 120 vac to it when set to bake and if there is 120 vac then test the oven safety valve to see if there is 3.0 to 3.6 vac getting to the valve. If there is then the igniter is good and if not getting proper voltage then the igniter is faulty. If there is not 120 vac to the igniter then the control would be the issue. If there is proper voltage to the oven safety valve then this would be a bad valve. Read More...
Quinn Holtan December 23, 2017 for Model Number Kenmore range 362.7332192 The oven and broiler will not ignite, they would quit working and I would move the oven switch back and forth real fast and it would work for a month or so and than it would happen again and I would move it and away we would go. It now will not lite no matter what I do,oven or broiler. What part do you think I need?
1 Answer Quinn, This issue will most likely be in the oven thermostat WB20K3 with the knob having to be switched back and forth. Read More...
Thelma C September 19, 2017 for Model Number LGGF3044LBA MY OVER COMES ON AND HEATS UP BUT DOEN'T HOLD THE TEMPERTURE. IT GOES OFF AND I MUST PLAY WITH IT TO COME BACK ON.
1 Answer Hello Thelma, from your description it sounds like you might have a weak igniter. You'll want to check your wires going from your igniters to your gas valve. If your wiring looks good you'll want to make sure your igniters are glowing almost a bright white. The bake igniter is part number 316489403 and the broil igniter is part number 5304506545. Hhda September 18, 2017 for Model Number 183D8077G035 part number WB2x9154 The part that needs replacement on my stove looks the same except the two wires on my have plastic connectors on the end to connect them into the wiring harness. They are two different shapes. How do we connect this part without them? Thanks
1 Answer Hello HHDA. The wires will need to be cut and spliced into the new ignitor using the provided ceramic wire nuts for the unit. Thank you. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Joe, If the ignitor WB2X9154 is glowing red or orange it is most likely breaking down and in need of replacement. It should glow yellow to white hot to draw enough current to open the gas valve. Read More...
Bryan August 30, 2017 for Model Number GE #JGBP35WEW1WW I have to replace the round igniter for the bake setting. The current igniter has 1 wire and the replacement shows 2 wires. Should I simply connect the 2 wires to the same spot?
1 Answer Hello Bryan, igniters are an electrical component and must have two wires to allow voltage in and voltage out. If you connect both wires to one, you'll create a direct short. Try tracing your wires from the safety valve to the bake igniter, hope this helps! Read More...
1 Answer Hello Mike, your meter should read anywhere between 0 to 1100 ohm's when testing a good igniter. Hope this helps! Read More...
