Michael June 26, 2015 for Model Number PFS22SISBSS Does the PTC + OLP assembly - AP4300623 come with the overload relay? Thanks
Howard April 12, 2015 for Model Number PFS22SBSBSS Compressor is not running. I have 115VAC on the main board connector labeled compressor. There is also DC voltage on the thermistor input to the main circuit board. The circuit board and the run capacitor have been replaced. Could it be the overload relay?
1 Answer Howard, Yes it could be the WR08X10061 PTC/OLP assembly. You might want to label and disconnect the black and blue wires from the start device and recheck to make sure you have 115 VAC across the two wires when the control is in a run/cooling mode. You may have a broken or loose wire in the harness. If you have the voltage, then replace the PTC/OLP assembly. Read More...
Franchot M December 18, 2014 for Model Number PFS22SISBSS What could cause my french door bottom freezer refrigerator relay overload capacitor to crack and possibly burn..Thank you..
1 Answer Franchot, There are a couple of things that can cause a overload relay and or capacitor go out. Could be a power surge, a condenser fan motor that is not operational, a faulty relay, or a locked compressor. Read More...
Dave H September 12, 2014 for Model Number p/n GE WR07X10097 /AP4300623 My GEPFS22SIBSS uses this ptcr + olp assy. The control is sending voltage to this part (+ run capacitor). The compressor is hot, and a overload cycles. I don't know if it's this part or the AP3796033 overload that is tripping. The run capacitor checks good with a tester. I'm trying to figure out if the compressor suddenly failed/locked, or if the AP4300623 is faulty. What do you think?
1 Answer Dave, In most cases when the unit is tripping out on overload would be a faulty relay. The part that you will want to get is the PTC and OLP assembly part number WR07X10097. Read More...
Michele September 03, 2014 for Model Number PFS22SISBSS I have installed a part WR07X10097. I can't figure out how to install the wire. Is it necessary?
1 Answer Hello Michele. No, it is not necessary. It keeps the part from falling off the compressor when the unit is moved. If you do not install the wire, then check the starter if you ever move the unit. Read More...
Dean August 02, 2014 for Model Number PFSW22MISBBB I replaced the PTC & Overload Relay on our GE Profile refrigerator. A parts guy says I don't need the capacitor with the new WR07X10097 relay but it doesn't look to me that there is any capacitor in the new relay and it has same slots on the back of it that the original capacitor fits into. I went ahead and put it in in spite of what he said but just want to confirm. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Dean, If the compressor in your unit had a capacitor, it is a required part so you were completely correct in installing it into your unit. The only way you would need to eliminate your capacitor is if the compressor were changed out to a compressor that does not need the capacitor. Read More...
Ge Profile Owner June 16, 2014 for Model Number PFS22MISBWW GE Profile Mod#PFS22MISBWW. I replaced the main control board and now the temp is still sitting at 74 degrees. I hear compressor running but no cooling 3 hours later. Temp is the same for freezer and frig. What else could be wrong? Condenser fan is spinning nicely now though. It was only spinning slow when I gave a nudge before board replacement. I don’t hear any clicking noise and never have.
1 Answer Hello. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like a sealed system failure. You will need an HVAC tech to repair the unit. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Gec, I would replace the condenser fan motor and verify that the compressor is running, and let the unit run for an hour or so then remove the rear wall of the freezer compartment and check the frost pattern. It should be fairly even all the way top to bottom with the frost a bit thinner near the bottom. If there is no frost at all, the compressor is most likely at fault with an internal failure. If there is an ice ball where the Freon lines enter the evaporator compartment, there has been a Freon loss. Verify also that the evaporator fan motor runs full speed without assistance. If not, it has failed. Read More...
Rick January 01, 2014 for Model Number PFS22SISBSS I just received then start devise for the compressor - part WR07X10097 PTC+OLP ASM but I don't see any instructions on how to install it. When I had ordered parts for my oven previously I was able to find step by step instructions on how to change out the parts and looking for something similar here. Thanks and Happy New Year!
1 Answer Rick, This overload PTc assembly is just a plug in assembly. You will want to pull the unit out and disconnect the power. Once power is disconnected, remove the compressor cover. There will most likely be a wire holding the overload assembly in place. Remove the wire and disconnect the wire connector on the old relay assembly. Take the capacitor off by pulling straight off and install on the new ptc. Push wire connector onto the new ptc and install back on unit and plug in. Read More...
Mark December 30, 2013 for Model Number GTS12BBMARWW Hi, I am trying to replace the relay assembly for a GE GTS12BBMARWW, but I can't seem to find all the parts that I currently have, e.g. the old relay is solid state (ceramic disk inside), the new Relay PTCR (WR07X10031) will not fit in the old cover box as it has a different shape. What do I do? Is WR07X10097 what I need to order? Thank you for your help. As a side note, my refrigerator won't turn on, the lamp inside is on, but no sound whatsoever. Am I correct to assume that the problem is with the relay/capacitor? Tested the compressor and it has proper continuity.
1 Answer Hello Mark, The parts you should be installing are relay WR07X10031 and overload WR8X167. This will not be the issue if 120Vac isn't getting to the compressor. The freezer fan runs off of the same power wires but will run if the compressor is not. You should check the defrost timer and make sure it isn't in defrost and if it isn't, it is getting and passing the voltage to the temperature control WR09X10074 properly. Consider the temperature control to be the on/off switch. Voltage has to get to it and pass to the compressor for the unit to run. Read More...
