Marc, You will want to check the drain solenoid to make sure that it is opening and closing. Also check to make sure that there is nothing caught in the impeller.

Hello Dennis. If the pump is not removing all the water, and the lines are not clogged, then you will need to replace the pump on the unit.

Hello. I have a GE Triton dishwasher that is not draining completely at the end of the cycles. You recently answered my question about this, and suggested, after checking all the hoses and drains for obstructions, that I change the discharge pump. I checked everything, hoses, took drains apart and cleaned them, etc. The pump will discharge water at the end of the cycle, just not all of it. None of the cycles, wash, rinse only, etc. will empty the machine completely. there is always about an inch and a half of water in the machine. What else can I check? Could the timing board, sensor, or whatever it uses be bad? And if so, is it in the panel behind the touch operation panel? Please advise, as I am leaving it apart until I get some suggestions. As usual, any help is much appreciated.

Hello Greg. If the lines are clear, then it sounds like the pump is not draining fast enough to empty all the water and the pump will need to be replaced on the unit. It should run for about 1 to 2 minutes at the end to clear the water out of the tub assembly. Make sure the check valve WD22X10025 is not restricting the water flow as well.

I asked recently about a GE dishwasher #r GSD5360F01SS not draining properly. As I suspected, you said I should change the discharge pump. I installed the pump, a WD19X10015, and the problem persists. Interestingly it fills with water fine, runs a complete cycle and does discharge water, just not all of it. I have checked all the hoses, disassembled the screens where the tub feeds into the discharge pump, made sure the backflow valve (flap really) is not obstructed and it still does not empty completely. i am wondering if the timing sequencer or board can be going bad or is bad; everything else checks out. Any other suggestions?

Hello Greg, It sounds like you have a bad anti siphon body valve WD22X10025 and piston and nut WD24X10018. This is an anti siphon valve and if the piston and nut are sticking then it will cause water to go out but end up coming back in. You will need to change these parts.

I have the GE Triton dishwasher model #GSD5360F01SS. At the end of every cycle, no matter if its wash or rinse only, it has about an inch and a half of water in it. In reading the other Q&A, i did what you suggested. i took off the hose to the sink and ran a rinse cycle. it discharges about a gallon of water no problem. i ran a wash cycle and it did the same. The drain hose is not obstructed, the discharge pump does pump out water, just not all of it. Is there a sensor or some other method of the unit thinking it is empty that may be bad, or can a weak pump run for a specified time and just not empty completely. I am not sure if the drain cycle is time driven or water level driven. Please, any help would be appreciated before I begin changing parts. Thanks.

Hello Greg, The dishwasher drains for a predetermined period of time so, if it isn't draining sufficiently, there is either a restriction in the drain or the impeller has debris in it that is limiting the amount of water it can push out. The impeller can also have a mechanical issue, (damaged or spinning on the motor shaft). There could also be a screen partially stopped up. Drain pump WD19X10015.

Hello Rey, The easiest way to repair this is the pump and motor assembly WD26X10013. If you don't want to spend that much, the other option is to rebuild the assembly, but the chances of a water leak increases greatly as these can be really hard for an experienced technician to rebuild these and get the new seals to hold water. The pump housing has been discontinued.

Hi W.D. You will need to un hook the drain hose at the sink and put it in a bucket. Then select the drain mode and see if the pump is OK. Is it clogged there or at the sink drain end ? Clear the pump and see if the impeller is loosely spinning on the shaft. If so you will need pump part # WD19X10015. Is the drain hose looped and mounted as far you under the sink and then taught to the sink drain ? This will create a p-trap and not allow the sink drain to back up into the dishwasher. Make sure that you transfer the red/orange , check valve flapper from the drain pump exhaust port. Thank You.
