Ben March 22, 2016 for Model Number WBB4500G0WW The drive shaft(?) is rubbing on the bottom when there is a full load with the water filled. I checked the apron per other responses and it does not appear to be bent or sagging. The suspension springs do seem to be worn out though. I'm thinking replacing all 4 (green (AP3702594) in back and white (AP5607528) in front should fix the issue. I can send pictures of the apron if that is an option. Also, it shakes really hard from side to side; it seems like there are some brackets that would attach from the leg and platform assembly to the base assembly but they are missing, does that sound right?
1 Answer Ben, For the shaking this would be caused by failed rod and spring assemblies also. There is nothing attaching the tub to the base of the unit. The rod assemblies are what you would want to replace and are front WH16X10057 and rear WH16X10141 and need 2 of each. Read More...
Steve December 14, 2015 for Model Number WJSR416OG1WW I have had similar issues as previous writers asking advice....loud thumping, especially a large or extra large load progresses, scraping the bottom, etc....but by your previous advice I am not sure if it means I need to replace the suspension rods (none seem worn or broken), apron kit or washer tub dampening straps....or all three! Any additional advice?
1 Answer Hello Steve, The manufacturer says to replace the apron kit. The shocks are not needed for the issue your having. You only need the kit advised in the previous answer. Read More...
Kevin December 13, 2015 for Model Number GE Washer GTWN3000M1WS My washer has a scraping noise which appears to be from the drive pulley hitting a metalic bracket on the bottom of the washer. My assumption is the suspension rods need to be replaced. I have a few questions: How many rods do I need to replace - the diagrams show 2 (left and right), but are there two in the rear of the washer? The diagrams in the manual also has two part numbers - part 414 & 415. What is the difference between the two parts? Do I need rod and spring assemble (part 414) or a suspension rod and spring assembly (part 415)? Thanks,
1 Answer Hello Kevin. This is not the suspension rods. You will need to order and replace the apron conversion kit WH49X20925 on the unit. Read More...
Dave December 19, 2013 for Model Number WWSE5240GWW Hi, My wash machine is making a cluncking noise in the wash mode. It moves around as if it is badly out of balance. I have leveled it. Is my best fix to replace the four shock rods? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Dave, You need to remove the front panel and look at the main base under the motor mounts. If it appears that the motor mounts have been rubbing the bottom of the machine, you will need to order the apron kit WH49X20925 to correct an issue with the support frame being bent downward. Rod September 18, 2012 for Model Number WHDRR418G1WW The washer is making a sqealing noise when using the full load. I figure the belt is getting worn (5years old). I also noticed it really sways and has rubbed on the bottom of the cabinet on occasions. I'm thinking the suspension rods are also getting weak . Are all four of the shocks the same. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Rod, The squealing is most likely something in the drain pump. As far as the suspension rods go, since the motor is mounted in the front, the front springs are stiffer than the rear, so the answer to your question is no, the suspension rods are not the same. Read More...
