The Drain Pump and Motor is an original LG (OEM) replacement part for LG made washing machines that is responsible for removing water from the washer at the end of the wash cycle. The pump forces water out through the drain hose so that clothing comes out free of excess water, making the drying process faster.

Symptoms of a failing Drain Pump Motor include:

  • Water not draining out of the washing machine
  • Noisy or unusual sounds coming from the pump area during the drain cycle
  • The washing machine stopping mid-cycle

Causes of a bad Drain Pump Motor can range from obstructions in the pump or hose, which can strain or damage the motor, to wear and tear from regular use leading to motor failure. Electrical issues can also affect the motor's performance, preventing it from operating correctly.

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Damien, Unfortunately, AppliancePartsPros.com doesn't ship to Canada. But the part number you need for the drain pump motor for the model number you supplied is 4681EA2001S/ EAU61383518. Good Luck, and Thanks

Jared, The IE error would be representative of a water inlet error and the OE is a drain error. With this issue it would sound like either the pressure switch is bad or the pressure hose is clogged or damaged and the unit is not sensing that the water is full or that the unit has finished draining.

Hello bc2116. You will need to check and make sure the o-ring is on the pump. If so, then it sounds like they shipped it with an extra one in the box.

Joe, With the unit not starting or bringing in water then the best option would be to put the unit into a diagnostic and see if there are any stored error codes. This will direct you to which part needs to be replaced.

Steve, The drain pump motor does sound like it would be the correct part to replace for your issue but unfortunately we would not have parts for this unit since it is an international use model.

Lilly for Model Number WM3455HS

Hi my washer is making an awful noise and it will wash clothes but will not drain and spin them. It keeps coming up with an OE error code. I tried cleaning out the drain pump but it wasn't clogged and the propeller turns freely so I'm not sure what the problem is. I called tech support and was told the drainage pump might need to be replaced he gave me the part number 4621AE200T1 but I can't find it anywhere. It is a front loading LG direct drive washer/dryer combo washer that is at least about 4-5 years old. What exactly would be all the parts I need to fix the drainage pump? Or could it be another problem?

1 Answer

Lilly, With the issue that you are having of the unit not draining you will want to first check to make sure that the drain pump is getting 120 vac to it. If it is and the water is not pumping then you would want to replace the pump motor 4681EA2001T. If the pump is not getting power to it then the issue will be the wiring between the drain pump and control board or will be a faulty control board.

Phil for Model Number Maytag Atlantis washer

Hello, my washer has been intermittent working and a burnt smell is coming from the machine. I can do a load , fills, spins, drains but has the burnt smell. It has completely stopped working before drain and had to wait a few hours before it started working again. Doesn't matter if load is small or large the burnt smell is there. First time it happened, I heard a weird noise from the washer, and then it cut power. Had to wait next day for it to work again. I'm not sure if it's a motor issue, or something else. I would appreciate if someone could direct me to the right fix so I can get the parts ordered. Thanks

Hello Phil. It sounds like the bearings are bad or the motor is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.
