Brian for Model Number LG Ice Maker Assembly AEQ72909603

I have already replaced the ice maker 4 times through Sears service. (French door, bottom freezer Kenmore). What happens is the tray pops out of the ice maker carriage and drops into the ice cube bin. What makes this worse is that the ice maker continues attempting to make ice and ends up dumping water into the ice cube bin while the tray is dangling in it. Eventually the bin fills with Ice with the tray frozen to it making opening the freezer drawer almost impossible. This last time the repair tech inserted a screw with washers into the far end of the tray's pivot rod, that is the axis on which the tray rotates further from the motor. The thought being that the tray usually pops out here because there's some slack and that preventing it from popping out at all would solve the problem. Guess what? Now the tray popped out from the motor side.

Seth for Model Number 795.76203901

This part is no longer working. I installed it and it stopped working a little over a week ago. I turned it off for a few minutes, hit the reset button, and it started working for the last week, but once again has stopped working. This time, it stopped working midway through rotating the ice tray. I've tried turning it off and on and hitting the reset button, but nothing. I've jiggled it every which way to see if it was stuck. It won't budge. Any advice?

Unfortunately, LG is only offering the icemaker as an assembly and the parts are not being sold individually.

Kevin, unfortunately, the model number provided appears to be a partial model. If the full model could be verified and provided from the model and serial tag, this will allow for the most accurate information to be presented. Commonly, it is best to get the part number directly from the ice maker if it is available.

Michael, as the valve is sold as the full assembly AJU73753101, it would be recommended that every part is used. The fill tube would need to be thawed out, which is usually safest with hot water being sprayed onto the ice, so that the ice does not rip any insulation when removing the tubing.

Michael, At this point, you just need to replace the water inlet valve AJU73753101 Valve Assembly, Water. The replacement valve also includes the water supply tube to the icemaker so you won't have to thaw out the line, but plan on lowering/removing the icemaker to ease the repair process.

Michael, based on the information provided, the fill tube is likely blocked up with ice where it drops water into the ice maker. This would indicate a leaking water valve AJU73753101.

Michael, If the arm is just hanging then you would need to replace the icemaker. The overfilling issue would be caused by a faulty water valve.
