Rafy, You may want to check the water level pressure switch and air tube, for proper fill level with an empty tub. Check the fill valve and hose screens for sediment and debris, then check for the proper water temperatures. If the bolt is tight and there's no debris, coins, buttons, etc. and the hub nut and washer are tight, then suspect the washer is being overloaded, and review the owner's user manual. Thanks,

Hello Spud, if you repost your question with the model number and the agitator you ordered we can check if it the correct part and if it should have come as a complete assembly. If you want to just swap the grey section yes it is held with 3 clips, however, trying to unclip all 3 at the same time may be challenging.

Curt for Model Number WT4870CW

I have this LG top load washer it will keep throwing a UE error code with just a partial load of clothes. but if tub is filled to max there seems to be no problem. would like to remove wash plate and check to make sure there are no obstructions underneath. Is it possible to remove plate without damaging any of components and reuse what was pulled out. If there might be any other issue causing this would appreciate your input. Thanks for your help LG washer Mod# WT4870CW Ser# 301PNDW8K866 Product code T1335ADFP.ABWEPUS

Hello Curt, pry off the pulsator center cap with a small screwdriver then using a socket wrench unscrew the mounting bolt, the pulsator then can be lifted off.

Richard, Unfortunately, we do not have the torque specifications for the agitator bolt. It would be recommended to back the bolt off and remove the wash plate and see if the tub will turn by hand. If the tub will not move then it is possible to have an actuator issue, a rotor or stator that is faulty, bearings that are bad, something stuck between the tubs.

Fedup, the pulsator is removable and may be bound up by detergent residues. Using a degreaser to soak into the pulsator connection may assist in removing this pulsator.

Joan for Model Number LG he washer

Hi, have an error code e6, machine won’t run. The drum slowly agitates for a few times then shuts down and code pops up. Checked per instructions for coins or anything stuck between washer pulsator plate and drum, found nothing. Pulsator will spin by hand also. Tried spin only and after the regular agitation the machine does to evaluate the load the error appeared again. Repair guy came over and touched something underneath and the washer worked without an error on spin only I think. Then he tried a regular wash cycle the error came up again. He told me the problem was the pump even though LG instructions for error code e6 is for the clutch. So who is right?

1 Answer

Hello Joan, according to LG the code refers to the control board not being able to get a correct signal from the motor/clutch, the most common cause being something caught between the tub and pulsator, however, if nothing is there and the pulsator spins freely it maybe there is a problem in the motor /clutch then. If you would repost your question with the washer's model number then we can check on the parts involved.

Mike, the pulsator cap 5006EA3009B in the center should be removed as well as the mounting bolt FAB30598601 for the pulsator. Aside from this mounting bolt, there would not be anything holding the plate down with the exception of build-up locking it in place. For a locked-in pulsator, a penetrating oil can be used to loosen the pulsator.

Donna, If the bolt keeps backing out after tightening it down then try to use some blue Loctite on it.
