Pat December 11, 2012 for Model Number LFX25960TT What is the function of the solenoid reversing valve? Does it affect the ice maker in a way that would make it overflow, spilling water and then freezing on the icemaker doors. We checked the water inlet solenoid valve and it does not appear to leak.
1 Answer Hello Pat, The reversing solenoid will have no effect on the production of the ice in the icemaker. The solenoid is used to open and close the ice dispenser door. If you are having an overflow/spilling issue then you would have a problem with the icemaker AEQ36756901. Read More...
Marty13 July 12, 2012 for Model Number LG Model LSC27931sb Flapper on ice chute is not closing on it's own. I assume it is the Solenoid Reversing Valve mentioned in other posts (part #405H in exploded view or part#5421JB2002D from the manual parts list). If this is the problem, How do I get access to it to replace it?
1 Answer Hello Chris. The dispenser cover unsnaps off the front of the freezer door. You can use a putty knife or butter knife to remove it. Be careful not to scratch the freezer door. Once it is removed, you will be able to access the solenoid part # 6421JB2002R. Thank You. Read More...

Texag90 February 23, 2012 for Model Number LG Side by side LRSC26925tt My ice flapper is not going back into the closed position & my ice maker is only dispensing crushed ice & not the selected cubed ice. LG says the problem is the solenoid. If so, how do I replace the solenoid? Thanks.
1 Answer Hi Tex. DISPENSER : Disconnect funnel and button assembly by pulling down and forward.2) Remove display frame Assembly by making a gap between a display frame Assembly and funnel Assembly. with a blade screwdriver and pulling it forward. The cover dispenser is attached with a hook.3) The Display Assembly can be connected by pressing the top of the dispenser cover and pushing it after separating the Display Frame from its housing.4) Loosen four screws with a Phillips screwdriver and pull the funnel Assembly to disconnect.6) To install the Duct Cap Assembly, insert one end of the spring into the right hole of the dispenser lever and insert the other end into the right hole in the top part of the dispenser. Then attach the holder at the solenoid switch. This allows total access of the flapper part # 5007JA3006R and the solenoid part # 6421JB2002R. Thank You. Read More...
