Questions & Answers

For Lg Washer Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM13336848)

1 Answer

Hello Terry, If the water continues to run when you unplug the unit from the wall outlet, make sure there are no screens in the inlet hoses stopped up and there is sufficient water pressure to the machine. If none, replace the cold water valve 5220FR2008F since the hot valve is normally not the valve that gives issues.

Our washer is several years old, maybe 5, not really sure, however recently we have noticed soap and bleach left in the dispenser cup. There is no blockage of any sort. It’s basically the water did not fill up the dispenser cups for the liquids to be dispensed or the water did not run long enough to clear the cups. For example the main soap cup would be full to the top with water and about 70% of the liquid soap. This has occurred 3 or 4 items with the soap and once with the bleach. It’s sporadic in nature. I have cleaned the inlet screens and checked machine level, water pressure, etc. and I am about 95% confident it’s a faulty cold water inlet valve not opening or not fully opening, could be the hot water valve, however it could be the main control board not signaling the valves to open. I have never seen any error codes. Since it’s not a constant problem using a volt meter to check for power does not help. Is there any way to isolate the root cause? Or is this a common enough issue that you could recommend which of these parts to replace?

Hello Dan. That's hard to do with it not happening all the time. In most cases, it is the cold water valve failing on the units.

My LG washer is interrupted by a symbol like an upside down F in front of an E. It used to do it once in awhile but now I cannot get it to finish a load. It can happen at various stages of the load, (e.g. filling, washing, rinsing etc.). I service tech once looked at it and recommended a new control board. I called one of your reps. and a water inlet valve was recommended. I would like confirmation on one of these recommendations of perhaps a new recommendation please.

Gary, This issue would be caused by a faulty thermistor. The error code that it is giving is a te error code which indicates a heating error and is showing that the thermistor is bad. The part number for the thermistor is 6322FR2046C.

Hello Cook. It sounds like the unit is siphoning out the water in the unit. Check and make sure there is only 6" of drain hose in the drain pipe. Also, make sure the drain pipe is 36" off the floor in height. You will need to check and make sure the drain hose has an air gap going into the drain pipe. If it is air tight, it will siphon.
