Terry January 18, 2015 for Model Number Lg wm2487hwm Water keeps running. I have to shut it off at the faucet. Everything I'm reading on here says it's the cold water inlet valve. What do you think?
1 Answer Hello Terry, If the water continues to run when you unplug the unit from the wall outlet, make sure there are no screens in the inlet hoses stopped up and there is sufficient water pressure to the machine. If none, replace the cold water valve 5220FR2008F since the hot valve is normally not the valve that gives issues. Read More...
Jammi H November 24, 2014 for Model Number WM2487HRMA In the manual, it says that the water jets spray. They do not spray at all on my machine and one Sears tech says they should, and one Sears tech says they shouldn't. I want them to fix it correctly. Can you tell me if these water jets should in fact spray the load with water? The water seems to just be coming up from the bottom into a small pool. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Jamie. Yes, the roller jets should work on this model. If not, then the circulation pump EAU61383518 may be bad on the unit. Read More...
Danc September 19, 2014 for Model Number WM2487HWMA Our washer is several years old, maybe 5, not really sure, however recently we have noticed soap and bleach left in the dispenser cup. There is no blockage of any sort. It’s basically the water did not fill up the dispenser cups for the liquids to be dispensed or the water did not run long enough to clear the cups. For example the main soap cup would be full to the top with water and about 70% of the liquid soap. This has occurred 3 or 4 items with the soap and once with the bleach. It’s sporadic in nature. I have cleaned the inlet screens and checked machine level, water pressure, etc. and I am about 95% confident it’s a faulty cold water inlet valve not opening or not fully opening, could be the hot water valve, however it could be the main control board not signaling the valves to open. I have never seen any error codes. Since it’s not a constant problem using a volt meter to check for power does not help. Is there any way to isolate the root cause? Or is this a common enough issue that you could recommend which of these parts to replace?
1 Answer Hello Dan. That's hard to do with it not happening all the time. In most cases, it is the cold water valve failing on the units. Read More...
Kountrygirl February 19, 2014 for Model Number LG WM2487H*M My water will not shut off during the rinse cycle. It keeps running until I turn it off on the tap. It does fill past the glass. I am getting the FE error code but I am confused about what part I need. I have read I need a Hot Water Valve, Cold Water Valve or Water Inlet Valve. Which do I need? Are they the same?
1 Answer Hello Kountrygirl. You need to order and replace the water valve that is bad on the unit. 5220FR2008F is cold water and 5220FR2006H is hot water. Read More...
Ken P February 05, 2014 for Model Number WM2487H*M My LG washer is stopping right at the end of the wash cycle before the spin cycle begins, with an FE error dispaying and water is continously pouring into the detergent dispensor box until I turn off the cold water hose at the tap. Gary P December 30, 2013 for Model Number wm2487hwm My LG washer is interrupted by a symbol like an upside down F in front of an E. It used to do it once in awhile but now I cannot get it to finish a load. It can happen at various stages of the load, (e.g. filling, washing, rinsing etc.). I service tech once looked at it and recommended a new control board. I called one of your reps. and a water inlet valve was recommended. I would like confirmation on one of these recommendations of perhaps a new recommendation please.
1 Answer Gary, This issue would be caused by a faulty thermistor. The error code that it is giving is a te error code which indicates a heating error and is showing that the thermistor is bad. The part number for the thermistor is 6322FR2046C. Read More...
John W. December 17, 2013 for Model Number WM2487HRM EVerything I read says I need a new cold water valve, but I'm getting different part numbers. When the cycle ends the cold water keeps running and will not shut off. I get an FE error code the water is running in through the side of the detergent pan where the fabric softner goes. Cutting off electricity does not help but stops when I shut off cold water. Can you verify which of the two valves showing in the diagram I need?
1 Answer John, the cold water inlet valve listed for your model is part number 5220FR2008F. Thanks! Read More...

Cook December 02, 2013 for Model Number WM2487HWMA Washing machine won't switch from rinse cycle to spin cycle. Keeps trying to fill with cold water.
1 Answer Hello Cook. It sounds like the unit is siphoning out the water in the unit. Check and make sure there is only 6" of drain hose in the drain pipe. Also, make sure the drain pipe is 36" off the floor in height. You will need to check and make sure the drain hose has an air gap going into the drain pipe. If it is air tight, it will siphon.
