Samuel June 03, 2012 for Model Number smh7178std My samsung microwave is arching and making loud popping sounds. I took top metal cover off and saw a black burn mark on magnetron shield. Also, which magnetron should I purchase?

Ted L. April 06, 2012 for Model Number GE DVM1850MM1 Om75p(10) tip is melted down (was arcing). The sheet metal above megatron tip is black with paint peeling up. I assume this is due to the arcing of the failed megatron tip. The unit is 5 years old. Is this a common problem?
1 Answer Hi Ted. Yes this is a issue when the magnetron shorts out. Magnetron part # OM75P(10)ESGN. Make sure that you use light sand paper or Emery cloth that will allow proper replacement of the microwave cavity paint part # 98QBP0302 with a few applications. This will allow the new magnetron to work properly along with the capacitor part # WB27X10011 and the diode part # WB27X10597. I would use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist. you in your diagnosis. Thank You. Read More...
