Nania, If the water valve and the icemaker did not correct the issue then it would most likely be an issue with the main control board of the unit.

Hunter S. for Model Number RF26XAEBP/XAA

I ordered and replaced the Water Assembly Valve (AP4511357) with no problem. This part fixed my water drip issue that flooded my ice maker. The only issue I have now is that when the refrigerator lets water into the ice maker it makes a loud screeching sound that is certainly abnormal. My bet is that there is some air in the line. I thought the bubbles would have been squeezed out by now, but it's been about 3 months with no relief. Any thoughts on what the sound could be?

1 Answer

Hello Hunter, This is most likely a water pressure issue to the unit. You should remove the water line and place it into a bucket and open the valve to see if there is any abnormal sounds from the water supply. If not, please contact us for a warranty re-ship on your part as it is probably coming from the valve itself.

Harold, When the icemaker cycles you will want to check the valve for 120 vac to it. If there is power then the water valve would be the issue and if there is not power the icemaker would be the issue.

Gary, The water valve will be located on the back of the unit and you will want to pull the unit out and remove the bottom panel, The 33 E would be a freezer pipe heater error which if there is no ice in the freezer then this would be the cause. The pipe heater for your unit will be DA47-00192E.

Dennis for Model Number RF261beaesp/AA

I have a samsung french door with bottom fridge that has stopped dispensing water and ice. The filter is brand new and the switch activates when pressed but there is no water dispensed. When the ice machine is reset you can hear and see it operate but the tray does not fill with water. I had a technician tell me it was the water filter housing assembly. Does this sound correct? they want almost $600 to fix it labor and parts. I can fix it myself for $110 if this sounds correct.

Dennis, If you are not getting ice or water then yes it does sound like it would be a issue with the water filter housing that is causing this.

Eddie for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA

My ice maker is not working. When I press the reset button, I hear the ding sound but nothing happens. I took a hair dryer and thawed out the ice maker just in case it was frozen up. I poured water directly into the ice maker, allowed it to freeze and tried the reset button again - still no cubes ejected. I can get a good stream of water from the water dispenser, so I assume the filter is not clogged even though the filter is showing it is time to change. I assumed the reset button would clear the tray, but like I said nothing happens. Should the reset button on this model clear the tray like oter models?

1 Answer

Eddie, The reset button should allow the icemaker to go through the cycle, emptying any ice in the icemaker and refilling it with water. If it is not cycling then you will want to replace the icemaker assembly.

Jennifer, The most common cause for the unit to not dispense water with a good valve would be that the filter is defective. If the filter is new then the filter head would be the other issue. The filter head is part number DA97-08006B.

Ed, To access the water valve you will need to pull the unit out from the wall and turn the water supply off and remove the compressor cover. On the right side facing the back of the unit is where you will locate the water valve and it is held in by 1 screw.
