William, the infinite switch DG44-01002A is an updated switch specified by the manufacturer for your model. Based on the manufacturer's information, this switch will have 8 connection points. Based on the manufacturer's data, there is a two-terminal connector at connection 2, one terminal on each corner at the connection 4, one terminal at 4A, one terminal at S2, one at P2, one at S1, and one at P1.

William for Model Number FE-R500WW

I have a 9 connection dg44-01002a dual element switch in my samsung stove. All the replacement switches sent to me and returned from a variety of Samsung parts depots, only have 7 connecting poi tsbut I have 8 connections on my existing switch. Can someone suggest what to do with the extra wire? I figure I can leave off the one to a light that designates whether it is the small burner or the large. Any answers? There are no dual connection points on the new switch just 7 singles.

William, the infinite switch DG44-01002A should have 9 terminals on it and it is recommended that all of the wires be plugged in due to safety risks with leaving a wire disconnected.

James, more than likely the cycling contact in the infinite switch DG44-01002A is weak and not allowing the element to cycle when the amp draw of both the inner and outer coils are present for both to heat. You may want to test the resistance of the element to ensure that it has not been impacted from this issue. At the switch, if you test the inner coil from the violet wire to the gray wire at connection 2, the reading should be between 42 to 48 ohms. The outer coil can be tested from the orange wire at connection 4A to the gray wire at connection 2 and should read 45 to 50 ohms.

Lisa, the infinite switch on the electric range is what opens and closes to send power to the element. When the switch no longer manages the temperature correctly, the switch would need to be replaced.

Brent for Model Number Samsung Stove - FTQ386LWX 01

I purchased a replacement Dual Infinite Burner Switch Energy Regulator, part DG44-01002A for my samsung stove. The burner(s) stayed on high. The part received (Robertshaw) has the same part number but is missing one of the connectors/tab where one of the wires connects to. It does not look broken, it's just not there. At the back of the regulator, each connector/tab is given a reference ID (2), (P1), (S1), (P2), (S2), (4A) and (4). The original regular has two tabs at the reference location (4). My new regulator only has one tab at the reference location (4). Any suggestions/fix? Thanks

Brent, the switch [DG44-01002A] should have two connections, one on each side of the corner where connection 4 would be.

Lyrian for Model Number DG44-01002A

Hello, my Samsung front right dual burner was running on high for both the inner and full element sides of the knob. I ordered this replacement part and connected the contacts the same as the previous broken regulator. It seems to work for a few seconds running at a lower temperature when set to low on either side and high and set to high on either side. Sadly it seems to click off after a few seconds as if it's reached its desired temperature but it doesn't turn back on. If I turn the knob setting up it will click back on but click back off shortly after. What could cause this? Note that the only difference between the parts I ordered and the original was an Invensys. The new one has a Robert Shaw branding on it. The part number is accurate though. It's the same.

Lyrian, there is a sensor on the element itself that may be malfunctioning. You may want to check the element to make sure that there aren't any failures within the element assembly.

Loretta, , In your case with the model number you supplied, Yes there are different switches for the different burner elements. The DG44-01001A / DG44-01001A is a 5 terminal switch-and operates the "single" burner element. The DG44-01002A / DG44-01002A is a 7 terminal switch-and operates the "dual" burner element. Then, the DG44-01003A / DG44-01003A is a 11 terminal switch, also called a energy regulator switch, for the "triple" burner element. Thanks,

Hello Mellisa, This is most likely caused by the infinite switches. Since both of the dual elements are controlled by the same part number infinite switch DG44-01002A, two will need to be ordered.
