For Samsung Range Oven Temperature Sensor (Part Number: OEM13029639)

Ron for Model Number FE710DRS/XAA

The upper oven does not maintain the set temp. It gets up to temp but the heating element does not activate when the temp falls. On very rare occasion it has but for 99% of the time it does not. While baking I will check the oven temp by depressing the UPPER button followed by the FUNCTION button and then the START. The display then shows the oven temp and then the heating element will turn on to heat to the SET temp. I did an OHM test on the sensor and it reads 1080 Ohm at room temp. If the temp sensor was defective I don't think it would get to the SET temp each and every time. Thanks for your help i.n this matter, Ron

Ron, Based on the reading that you are getting on the sensor at room temp then it would be ok and this would be an issue with the control board of the unit. You will want to check the wiring between the sensor and the board to make sure that it is not faulty.

Ziaf, Apparently you have the proper voltage to the range. You'll need to check the wiring from the oven control to the bake and broil elements, Id all's OK and there are no loose or broken wires, you'll need to check for voltage out of the relays to the elements and/or replace the control board DE92-03045F

Barry, The error E5 is not showing as a valid error code for anything we can find which may mean erroneous error and would be a bad control board.

Andrew, The E 27 is a sensor error which you can test the sensor for a resistance of 1080 ohms at room temperature and if it is not correct then replace the sensor. If there is not a problem with the sensor then check the wiring between the sensor and the board. If this checks ok then check the resistance of the oven sensor connector on the board and it should be 2850 ohms and if not then would be a bad control board.

James, To replace the oven sensor on this unit you would need to remove the 2 screws holding it in which should be located in the oven. If no screws in there then pull the unit out and remove the rear cover to remove the sensor.

Lenny, This issue will be a overheating issue. You will want to test the oven sensor for 1090 ohms at room temp of 77 degrees. If it does not have proper resistance then check whether the DLB of the sub PCB, broil, bake and convection heater relay are being worked normally. Check whether there is any disconnection of the harness that is linked with the main PCB on the main PCB. This issue will likely be the Main control that is the issue.

Jonathan for Model Number FER300SX/XAC

The bake for my Samsung oven does not seem to be working right. It takes a really, really long time to heat up to the temperature set, e.g. 400. And even then it does not quite reach that temperature even though the digital display says it did. I used an oven thermometer to double check this. It's off by about 150 degrees. And it does not keep its heat after I open the oven door. The broil and cleaning setting seems to work fine. The stove-top burners all seem to work fine as well. Could you advise on what to look for? Thanks in advance.

1 Answer

Jonathan, The oven temp sensor is the most likely problem DG32-00002B, but with as large a "gap" in the oven temperature we'd have to think there's an issue with the control, especially without an error code in the display. Replace the sensor first, it may have lost it's calibration, and check the wiring between the sensor and the control.
