Joyce January 06, 2015 for Model Number GU2200XTSQ How to get rid of foam appearing in dishwasher after every washing.
1 Answer Hello Joyce. It sounds like to much soap or rinse aid is being used. Try running some vinegar through the unit to clean out the soap and then cut back on the amount being used. Read More...
Mariana May 07, 2014 for Model Number GU2400XTP2 Do the accumulator and filter separate so I can rinse out the filter? There is some fuzzy stuff on the inside that I am unable to reach without separating them. They seem like they'll budge, but I don't want to force it and break it.
1 Answer Hello Mariana. Sorry, you must replace the accumulator assembly. It does not come apart. Read More...
Mark April 13, 2014 for Model Number Kitchen-Aid KUDS01DLBT02 My dishwasher keeps blowing the internal fuse. I have replaced 3 times. Each time it runs good for 2 or 3 cycles then it blows the fuse. I have noticed that after it blows the fuse, usually not right after, I check and there is still water in the bottom of the tank. I know it is not the drain pump. Any suggestions
1 Answer Hello Mark. Make sure your replacing the wiring harness with the new fuses. If not, that is the reason it keeps blowing. If you have replaced the harness, you will need to order and replace the control board in the unit. Read More...
Richard A. December 28, 2013 for Model Number Jenn Air Dishwasher JDB1255AWS0 This Jenn-Air has worked fine for 5 years, and it still does today. Cleans dishes just fine but after the machine is off, within a few hours there is a puddle of clean water at the bottom of the tub. I run the rinse cycle and it is drained and clean again. I thought is was fine but the next morning a pool of water leaking out the closed door. There is a round grey colored water device in the front right tub basin that sometimes seems to be leaking very slowly, while other times it is not leaking at all. Again, I ran the dishwater 5 or 6 times to see if some dirt or debris was opening this device but to no avail. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Richard, You should remove the inner door panel and look for water trails that would indicate where the leak is coming from. If none are evident, there is a good possibility that the leak can be from a "wave" in the water from a separating spray arm, or debris in the spray arm that would cause an uneven spray. If the water is leaking from the float for the overflow switch, this can only be caused by an over soap condition where the suds build up and are able to jump over the float tower. If the water appears to be coming from the front edge of the tub, this can be attributed to the spray arm conditions previously mentioned or an over soap condition. It can also be caused by a water valve not closing properly and creating an over filled condition in combination with a detergent build-up under the float, making it heavy and contributing to the over fill condition. Seth November 30, 2013 for Model Number GU1200XTKT0 I have been getting some nasty buildup on my dishes that's kind of a sticky, sandy substance. I took off the lower spray arm and looked at the accumultor filter, and there was a hole in it. Is there any way for me to buy the screen/filter without buying the whole accumulator assembly?
1 Answer Hello Seth! Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not offer the filter separate from the accumulator assembly part number 8193918. Thanks. Read More...
Cris March 18, 2013 for Model Number Kitch´n Aid KUDS35FXSS2 There is broken glass visible under the filter at the bottom of the unit. I've been able to remove the lower arm and also have removed the three screws visible. I thought now I'd be able to pull out the filter and vacuum the glass, but nothing is budging. Can you advise on how to get under the filter? Also, what can happen if I run the dishwasher without removing these small pieces? THANK YOU!
1 Answer Cris, There should be four(4) screws that secure the accumulator to the sump 8193918 " 1. Remove the four (4) Torx T-20 screws securing the soil accumulator from the sump base. 2. The soil accumulator assembly will now lift free of the sump base". You're correct, you want to remove as much debris from the sump assembly as possible(especially glass) There is the potential of the debris getting pass the chopper and screen, and damaging or blocking the impeller and shaft seal. George May 22, 2012 for Model Number DU1145XTPQ9 Whirlpool I have a Whirlpool dishwasher model DU1145XTPQ9 There is glass visible below the lower arm in the accumulator. I've removed the lower arm and the screws to the top of the accumulator. Now what? The top of the accumulator looks like it might twist off but what the water feed arm.
1 Answer Hello George, The feed tube will twist out of the way. The internal rear feed cap rotates to the right to about the 2 o'clock position to be removed. The feed tube can also be removed from the clips in the rear if so desired. Once the internal rear feed cap is removed, remove the screws and the accumulator assembly and you will have access to the chopper blade area of the pump. Be sure to check the chopper blade shaft for breakage. If a piece of glass gets into the chopper blade, it will break the shaft that supports it and will make noises and food particles will accumulate in the pump. This will cause a no drain situation. Be sure to let us know if any more assistance is required. Read More...
John February 16, 2012 for Model Number kudio2crwho The drain pump works well, all lines cleared, however the water does not empty out of the accumulator sump and remains at the top of the accumulator lovered rim, is this normal? Pump runs after this level is reached for about 30 seconds, or should the drain motor empty more water out of the accumulator base. Seems odd Kitchen Aid would allow this water to remain. Wife says it used to empty? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. John
1 Answer Hi John. You need to get a bucket and un hook the drain hoes at the sink connection. Put the end of the hose in the bucket and see if the water now drains fully. If so then also use a screwdriver inserted in the sink drain to see if it is clogged there... (very common). You also need to see if the drain hose has a loop into it (creating a p-trap) and mounted as high as possible to the back wall of the under the sink area. Then taught into the drain standpipe... At the other end of the drain hose there is a check flap valve part # WP8268375. If this is missing or ripped it will allow negative back flow into the tub. It is mounted at the drain hose/ pump area. Small but very effectively needed. Unfortunately if the pump impeller is spinning loose on the pump shaft then you need to replace it. Pump Part # WPW10348269. Use a wet shop vac. to remove all debris from the sump area as you remove the top filter and lay all parts aside one by one to clean under the sink and inspect them for damage. When you get to the chopper blade then this is as far as you can go. Cleaning and using Dishwasher Magic part # TJ104 monthly w/ hot water will refresh the unit to keep optimum performance levels. Dwayne January 27, 2012 for Model Number kenmore 665.17742K010 accumulator is covered with a gray substance plugging the filters in the top of accumulator, also on the underside of filter! Looks almost a gasket has dissolved and plugged every thing! Looks and feels almost like gum!
1 Answer Dwayne, It's most likely a detergent or calcium deposit from the water. It could also be a grease,or food deposit due to a lower than reccomended water temperature(120 dgrs.F. at first fill of the cycle) If the water temperature is not hot enough, the enzymes in the detergent, and the oil from the food particles on the dishes will not breakdown properly, and will leave a residue,in the dishwasher. You may want to purchase a dishwasher cleaner like "glisten" or "afresh" ,etc. to remove any deposits and run a few cycles with a proper hot water temperature (120 dgrs.F.) and recheck the resukts. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
James September 17, 2011 for Model Number kuds01Ijbl) How do I remove the accumulator assembly? I've removed the screws. Does it twist? Do I end to remove another piece to remove the accumulator assembly? Thanks.
1 Answer James, There are 4(four) #20 torx screws in the top of the accumulator(around the center opening) that have to be removed before you can lift the top of the accumulator off the pump assembly. You have removed the lower rack and dis mounted the water tube from the pump/accumulator top, correct / Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
