Roger December 17, 2014 for Model Number GSL25IFRFBS My ice and water dispenser does not work. The refrigerator cools sometimes. When it is ready to stop cooling, it makes a clicking noise and stops cooling. When it make a clicking sound, I can see the fan in the freezer moving to match the clicking noise. It moves a little on each click.
1 Answer Hello Roger, This sounds like a bad start device WR09X10107 on the compressor. Unplug the unit and remove the cover on the rear compartment to access the compressor. Remove the start device from the compressor and shake it. If it rattles, it has failed. Read More...

Tim H November 04, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool RBD305PDS12 Control Panel Display is blank, but beeps when buttons are pressed. Oven does not turn on, but light works inside so power is on. I cycled power (let off for 30 minutes), no help. Please advise on the part required. Thank you.
1 Answer Tim, You will want to check the transformer for the control to make sure that it is good. Test on the P16 connector from pin 5 to 7 for 120 vac. If there is 120 vac then test P16 from pins 2 to 3 for 12 to 24 vdc. If there is not voltage at this point then the issue would be the transformer. The transformer part number is WP9760587. 1 Answer Carl, Check and reset the breakers to the oven, if you haven't yet. then check the control thermal fuse WP4451042 inside the control panel compartment. If it appears broken replace it first. If it's OK, then you'll need the control board 4448876. Read More...

Bill June 14, 2014 for Model Number RBD305PDS14 The temp readout on this wall unit has quit working or is extremely faint. (cannot read the upper display and the lower oven is very dim) Does the mother board need to be replaced to fix this problem. Other than the readout, the oven works fine and the temp seems to be controllable. We just set the temp by counting the 5 degrees increments the setting increases or decreases when pushing the up/down arrows.
1 Answer Bill, The control board uses a transformer for the lighting of the display. The fact that the board has a very dim display would represent that the transformer is not sending enough power to the board. You can test the transformer for 120 vac in and 12 vdc coming out at the control board. If there is less than 12 vdc then the transformer is faulty and need to be replaced. The part number for the transformer is WP9760587. Read More...
