Tuan T. May 16, 2016 for Model Number MDE9700AYM Plugged in, only the internal light comes on. None of buttons work. One says thermostat and the other says electronic control board. What do I need to replace? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Tuan, This can either be the door switch WP35001125, the thermistor WP35001191, an electrical connection, or the control WP35001227. Read More...

Steve S October 26, 2015 for Model Number MDE9700AYW Dryer was running when power outage occurred. On return of power no control panel lights or display is working. No response to any control buttons being pushed. Checked 240 power is there, and when you open the door to the dryer the internal light goes on. Would this indicate the control board needs replacing?
1 Answer Hello Steve, Yes based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Casey. You need to check for a bad fuse WP35001193, belt WPW10205415, or bad door switch WP35001125. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Anh T February 08, 2015 for Model Number MDE9700AZW My dryer have flash all light in font panel and today is no more light at all. Is that problem from power board or control panel board? Thank you
1 Answer Anh, With the control panel flashing lights previously and now has no lights at all, This would most likely be a control panel issue which would need to be replaced. Read More...
Mike November 03, 2014 for Model Number MDE9700AYW My dryer will not heat. I have replaced the thermister, thermostats, hi/low switch, heating coil, and control panel. Still no heat. It does run, however. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
1 Answer Mike, There are 2 components other than the thermostats which would cause the heating element not to work. First is the motor WP35001080 and second the Main control board WP35001153 . The best option is to disconnect the power to the unit and access the heating element. Disconnect one wire that is going to the heating element, preferably the one on the thermostat side. Plug the unit back up and using a multimeter you will want to turn the dryer on and test for 120 vac at the terminal on the heater where the wire was disconnected. What this will do is eliminate the heater element itself and the motor. If there is 120 vac at this point then you know the heater is good and the motor is good because the other 120 vac coming through the thermostats is the timer side of the circuit. If there is not 120 vac at that point then you will want to test the other terminal on the heater and check for 120 vac. If there is not 120 vac then the motor would be bad and if there is 120 vac then the heater would be the issue. Read More...
Roy R. July 01, 2014 for Model Number mde9700ayw Maytag dryer, no power, no lights at all, 246 volts both legs combine, 123 volts each leg to the connection terminal, terminal block is good. Wires to power board, the 12 gauge blue and black which plugs into the board, no voltage detected. Checked thermal fuse, it is getting continuity, checked door switch it is working. The power board looks pretty good with the exception of a round ( "transistor") white plastic case with dime size metal disc which has small amount of blackish on it, located just next to white connection leading to front control panel, also inspected front of dryer control board, nothing burned out. Power supple is lost and so am I. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Roy, I would verify 120Vac to the grey wire on the light socket to ground. If it is there, test from the grey wire to the white wire. It should also read 120Vac. If not, you have dropped neutral. Note the wiring diagram on page 6 of the tech sheet. Read More...
Jablonsj June 23, 2014 for Model Number MDE6700AYW I have a Maytag Neptune Dryer that is electric and it will power up but when you hit the start button an error code flashes up with (what it looks like) a lowercase "t" (or a upside down "f" in reverse) and a "5" (or "S"). I am not sure what the code is. I had a repair man come out and he checked the thermistor, thermostat, and fuse. All checked out fine. Could this be the control board and if it is which one? The one in the front (behind the display) or the one under the top cover?
1 Answer Jablonsj, The ts is a dryer thermistor short. This means that the thermistor resistance is very low. You will want to check for clogged lint screen, restricted vent system. The thermistor has been checked so it would be good. Check for bad wires on the thermistor. When checking the vent system you will want to check from the blower wheel to the outside of the home. If all this checks ok then the issue would be the main control board and would be the one under the top cover. Read More...
