The Bearing and Tub Seal Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. It includes high-quality bearings and a tub seal designed to ensure smooth operation and prevent water leaks. The bearings allow the tub to spin freely and quietly, while the seal protects the bearings from water and detergent, extending their life and the overall efficiency of the washing machine.

Causes of failure for these components can vary but often include water infiltration that leads to rust and deterioration of the bearings, or wear and tear from heavy or unbalanced loads that put additional stress on the seal and bearings.

Symptoms of a bad bearing and tub seal kit include:

  • Noisy operation, especially during the spin cycle
  • Water leaking from the bottom of the washer
  • The washing machine tub struggling to spin or not spinning at all

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Bearing And Tub Seal Kit (Part Number: OEM15975108)

1 Answer

Hello Brad, This is much easier since you do not have to attempt the removal of the bearings from the plastic tub without breaking it and the bearings and outer tub seal is pre-installed by the manufacturer so the special tool is not needed to install the new ones.

Brad, Yes the W10435302 / W10435302 Bearing and Tub Seal Kit, will "fit" your WTW8600YW! Whirlpool Washer. You will want to order the W10447783 / W10447783 Bearing Installation Tool, in order to align and seat the bearings properly in the tub. As long as you use the tool, and follow the instructions and are careful, you won't need the W10381078 / W10381078 Outer Tub Assembly unless you crack or break the tub. The outer tub assembly is produced with the tub bearings pre-set and sealed at the factory and includes the drive shaft.

Hello Terry, this model does not use a drive shaft or spin bearings, agitation and spin operations are done by the gearcase part W11454741.

Lee, There is no serial or part number for the individual tub bearings, there never was. Originally, you had to order the outer tub assembly, in order to receive the tub bearings and driveshaft. If you order the W10435302 Bearing and tub seal kit, you will receive the correct parts to repair the washer. You also want to use the W10447783 Installation tool to properly align and seat the tub bearings to the factory specifications and to make the repair easier, proper, and a long-lasting repair. Thanks,

Hello Paul, the adhesive supplied by the manufacturer should be compatible for the installation of the seal. Thanks!

Glen_T for Model Number WTW6200VW0

Just installed the bearing/seal/shaft kit, and wanted to thank you for the video - very helpful. Two things: The video seems to imply that you should "flood" the adhesive on the upper edge of the seal after it is installed to seal the outer edge. I noticed that in doing so, some adhesive got over to the seat/shaft joint. Will this cause a problem? It is hard to control the adhesive, and hard to see while applying. I'm hoping it will not cause problems - it seems like the adhesive on the OD is the main seal, and this is just a backup. The adhesive is very sticky and hard to remove, so I'm hoping it won't be a problem. Also, towards the end of the video, it mentions that you should run the "C0" and "manual spin" test. I heard it as "seal" test, not "C0" and for the life of me could not find a "seal" test. Thanks again.

Hello Glen, that should not be a problem, the drive shaft is mated to the water seal along its length down in the water seal not necessarily at the top of the water seal.
