Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18064248)

Vishaal, based on the information provided, the control WPW10438750 would be the cause of failure if there is proper air flow from the blower fans. Unfortunately, as the control has been discontinued by the manufacturer, we would not know where one could be obtained.

Hello David, thank you for contacting Appliance Parts Pros. This is likely due to the transformer that powers the WP9760587 WP9760587 starting to wear out or heat intrusion in the area around it causing the transformer to slowly overheat. You might try sliding the oven out so that you can access the top venting area where the transformer and blower fan are and ensure any ducting is sealed and does not allow excessive heat into the area. If that looks good you will most likely need to replace the transformer. If you see any gaps in the ducting that need to be sealed you can use foil-backed ducting tape that is rated for high temps to reseal it.

John Raybon for Model Number RBD305PRS00

Hello - I have a double whirlpool oven and receive these error codes: "J06 r:21 E39" on electronic control display. I finally found and replaced the 4 interior lights and they do not operate when I press light button on display as all I get is a single beeping sound when pressing button on/off and a clicking sound that resonates from the control board area. Is this indicating I need a new control board? As you know it is no longer available for purchase and seemingly my only 2 alternatives are: (1) find a used one (2) send mine in for refurbishment Just trying to get a resolution to get my internal lighting to function again. All other oven functions work as advertised. Thanks you and look forward to your assessment to my issue.

John R, this is one you will need to use a multimeter and the tech sheet supplied with your oven to determine if you are getting power from the board to the lights. If not then it would likely be an issue with the board.

Rodney, unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the control board WPW10438750 for your model and has not provided an approved substitute number. As this is the case, an alternative part can not be recommended.

Karyn, This unit has a transformer for the display that you will want to check. You will want to test the transformer on the unit to make sure that it is good. If the transformer is good then this will be a control board issue. The transformer part number is WP9760587 and can be tested by checking for 120 vac at the p16 connector between pins 5 and 7 for 120 vac and if there is power there then test from the p16 pins 2 to 3 for 12 to 24 vac. If there is no power at this point then transformer is bad. If there is power at this point then the control board is faulty. If there is no power at pins 5 to 7 then the control board is faulty.

Tim, Since there is a response from the keypad, this would most likely be caused by a faulty control board.

Hello Michael, once a manufacturer discontinues a part and it is out of stock it is considered no longer available, there is no substitute part that can be used in its place.

Jack, with the power cord unplugged from the outlet, it would be recommended that the main control WPW10438750 is tested from the connection P24 pin 3 black wire to the main incoming L1 black wire for continuity. If it reads open, the internal thermal fuse has failed and the control would need to be replaced (unfortunately, the control has been discontinued by the manufacturer). This thermal fuse usually fails due to an airflow issue whether it is from a failed fan or from a blocked vent.

Dan for Model Number RBD305PRQ00

Our A/C must draw a lot of juice. When it kicked on one evening a few weeks ago, the dual oven beeped three time. The display panel is blank and the ovens are "dead". Oven light functions when door is opened and using keypad. Pressing any other button disables the light button and results in three beeps. Pressing Cancel button results in one beep and reactivates the light button. Is my issue likely 1.) the control board, 2.) thermal fuse, 3.) transformer or perhaps multiple items? Note Whirlpool control board WPW10438750 has been on backorder for many months (perhaps longer) with no delivery date in sight. Several neighbors with the same dual oven experienced the same issue around Christmas 2017. Tired of waiting and with no manufacturer information forthcoming, they purchased replacements ovens.
