1 Answer James, This control board WPW10174746 will be the correct board and you will want to make sure that the control board does not have a connector on the side where the wire would go. Read More...
Steve K July 23, 2017 for Model Number WGD9500TW1 I have a Whirlpool gas Duet Steam Dryer (part number WGD9500TW1). I suspect it is about 6 or 7 years old. Everything on it works except recently, the heat went out. I checked the breaker, cleaned the vent and exhaust hose and no luck. Did diagnostic and came up with an F:01 code. This is the control board (part number W10182365 Rev B). Seems strange that a bad control board is the reason for no heat. I took cover off and checked every connection on the board and reconnected them to no avail. I am worried that I will purchase a new control board for $210 and after installing it, the heat still won't work. Does it make sense that I would get an F:01 code for no heat when literally everything else on the dryer is working perfectly? Would you recommend replacing the control board to bring back the heat? Thanks.
1 Answer Steve, There is a heat relay on the control board that would be the cause of this issue and the F01 error is a control failure in which you would need to replace the control board for. Read More...
Bumnet December 06, 2016 for Model Number WGD9600TA1 Dryer did not spin or stopped spinning mid cycle yet timer continued to count down. Then after about a week of this got F01 error. Opened machine up and re-soldered blown portion of electronic board. Back up drying but continues to stop spinning periodically. If i order a new board and it does not fix problem, can I return board for money back? I don't want to throw too much money into an 8 year old dryer. If it's simply the board and I'm fixed then I'll be happy. If board doesn't correct problem we will just buy new dryer. Suggestions? Thanks you for your time
1 Answer Bumnet, The F01 is a indication that there is a issue with the primary control board and it would be recommended to replace the board. Here is a link to our return policy. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/customerservice/returns.aspx Read More...
Tracy O October 12, 2016 for Model Number WED9500TW3 Had been getting the F70 error code on and off for about a year. Generally you could power down and restart occasionally you had to unplug the dryer and re-plug it in and it would work. Just now went to put a load in and shut dryer door, with force to latch- and it completely powered off. I had read about the F70 being electronic so I opened and shut the door a few more times and then part of the display showed up and part not. Then with the door closed and part of the display reading okay- power light on I tapped the top of the dryer like a Fonzie tap and the display came on correctly and luckily it started and is working. However I know that Fonzie method will certainly come to an end and would like to know the part to order if it is the user interface control board- read this from an earlier post. Thank You for your Time. Tracy
1 Answer Hello Tracy. F:70/F:71 flashes when there is no communication between the machine control and the console electronics. ¦ Check the harness connections at the machine control and at the console electronics. ¦ Replace the machine control electronics WPW10174746. Read More...
George May 23, 2016 for Model Number Kenmore 110.87731701 The dryer heater would not cut off. Melted some synthetic clothes. It blew the thermal fuse. Thinking that might be the culprit we replaced that and it blew again. Have checked most of the components with diagnosis tips from online. Looking on line seems to indicate the Dryer Control Board W10182365 might be bad. Comments? Pls advise.
1 Answer Hello George. It sounds like the relay is stuck on the control board and the board will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Catt March 06, 2016 for Model Number WDG9500TW3 I am getting error code F01 and the dryer won't start. After all the troubleshooting is seems I need a new control board part no. W10174746. It does seem like a DIY replacement but I am getting mixed messages when I call about getting the part. First, I was told to just order a new control board and replace. Then I was told I could not order the control board, that a Whirlpool repairman would need to come remove and then send it in for repair. Which one is correct?
1 Answer Hello Catt, As per the tech sheet for WGD9500TW3, F:01 indicates a Primary Control Failure. As per the manufacturer you should be sure to check all connections.then replace the machine control electronics WPW10174746. Read More...
Duwayne January 20, 2016 for Model Number 11097721701 I have a Kenmore dryer model 11097721701. I bought it June 22, 2009. Tonight, my wife put clothes in it turned it on and heard a weird sound.. like popping. She came and told me something wasn't right. A few minutes later I went to check it and the laundry room was full of smoke. The Electric Control Board part number W10174746. It is completely fried. Part of it burned up. Have you heard of this happening? If I hadn't taken the night off, my wife would have turned on the dryer and headed to bed. My house would have burned down. Worried about this dryer now. Want to replace this part but concerned if this is a common problem with this dryer.Thanks.. D
1 Answer Hello DuWayne. No, it is not common for the control board to burn up in these units, but it does happen from time to time. If it didn't damage anything other than the board, then you should be fine with just replacing the board on the unit. Read More...
Steve March 01, 2015 for Model Number mede0900vw0 Dryer overheating. Have diagnosed to a likely stuck relay on the control board. Trying to disconnect the various wiring connectors on the control board. The 2 power wires attached to a high power relay won't come off the board. There does not appear to be any locking mechanism on the connector, but I cannot remove the connector. Any tips to remove these? Any hidden locking mechanism that I am missing?
1 Answer Steve, There would not be any special way to get the connectors off the terminal. You could try to remove by using a pair of needle nose pliers to get ahold of the connector and pull it off. Read More...
Casey January 25, 2015 for Model Number MEDE500VF1 In the technician troubleshooting mode error code f31 appears. No error code is shown when in normal operation. Power comes to display but when you push start a delayed click sound is made and nothing happens. I have checked the circut breaker and it is fine. The dryer was half way thru a cycle when it quit. The manual says this is slow voltage issue but I find it hard to believe my power cord that is 4 years old went bad. I am leaning towards the control panel.
1 Answer Casey, If the power cord is good and the breaker is not tripped then this issue would be caused by a faulty control board which is part number WPW10174746. Read More...
Mdb September 24, 2014 for Model Number MEDE500VW1 I was getting a ERROR message on Dryer that said F70. This dryer was bought in 2011, Should Maytag Dryers Last longer? We had the matching Washer and it got to expensive to fix. Anyway back to the dryer the manual said there was no communication between the electronic assemblies. I checked the harness connections on both assemblies and they looked ok. How can I tell if the parts need to be replaced? The manual suggested replacing them both but the parts alone are very expensive. The part numbers are W10174746 (which possible could be the bad one) the other part W10246787. Thanks and any help you can provide would be great.
1 Answer MDB, The probability of both control boards being inoperable is very, very slight. The more likely issue is the "machine control board" WPW10174746, has failed due to a voltage spike or weak solder joint. It's more susceptible to damage than the user interface control. Read More...
