Godfrey November 03, 2016 for Model Number MER5750AAW How do I release the cooktop on the Maytag Electric model MER5750AAW to get at the element ? Does it have screws or fasteners ? The indicator shows that there is current going to the element, but it does not heat up. Is the part # AP4012913 the correct replacement part for this appliance ?
1 Answer Godfrey, There are screws that attach the cooktop to the range top frame. To release the cooktop, remove power to the range, and open the oven door. The two 1/4 hex head screws farthest away from the center of the cooktop will need to be removed, then you can lift the cooktop up and access the elements and test them. The W10823704 is the correct part number for the 6" burner element for the model number you supplied. You most likely have a defective infinite switch WP7403P238-60, There are two power sources to the infinite switch and elements. Just because the indicator light illuminates, doesn't mean you have the 220-240 volts out of the switch to the element. You may want to test or check the switch first. Read More...
Claudeen September 21, 2016 for Model Number MER6769BAW I have a Maytag Gemini with glass cooktop. Front right burner out. What is the size I need to order? Only shows a 6" in your supplies and believe that is for the back burner.
Aida M. September 20, 2016 for Model Number Whirlpool smooth top electric stove purchased approx. 12 years ago One of my small burners quit working yesterday. I want to know if this is an easy fix or should I be looking for a replacement for my stove. In addition, the rubber seal around the glass has started to come out in an area. Thx
1 Answer Hello Aida, I'm sorry but we will need you to post a new question including the model number from the units' I.D. tag. This will enable us to see what configuration you have and we will be able to give you part numbers that will actually work on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Jane August 12, 2016 for Model Number Jenn Air Radiant Cooktop Model CCR466B The left front burner heats up and stays at maximum heat and can not be turned down. Do you think this is an issue with the burner or something else? What part do you think is necessary to replace? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Jane, This can be an issue with the limiter in the element assembly, W10823704 for 6 inch or W10823707 for 8 inch, or a failed infinite switch 7403P211-60. I'm sorry but this part 7403P211-60 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Read More...
Mark July 27, 2016 for Model Number 629.46799895 the cook top takes forever to boil water on high. the element glows then shuts off. question 1 should the fan run when cooktop is on? it works for oven. 2 would replacing thermal limiters or thermostat keep burner on longer? when it gets warm it tends to overshoot temps when dial set to midrange. thank you
1 Answer Hello Mark. No, the fan does not come on for the top. It is normal on these to cycle on and off and it does take some time to boil the water. Read More...
Ani February 11, 2016 for Model Number MER5750AAW Maytag glass-top cooktop mode: MER5750AAW and Serial # 1103****UK Front left burner does not work. I ordered switch from your site and replaced it. Now it seems i need element itself. Found Part # AP4012913 on your site. The numbers don't match with my element. Will it fit on my stove? Should I order any other part anything else to fix this issue?
1 Answer Hello Diyfreak, Since the keypad is the functional part and the insert is just an indicator as to where the buttons are, there should be no problem with using the old one. Note that cracks and holes are not desirable but these can still be used until they can be replaced with no negative impact. Read More...
Robert January 25, 2016 for Model Number CHE9800BCE The diagram # for this burner(6" small burner) is 14. When I scroll down to the number 14, I see 14, 14 A,14 B with different costs. What element fits CHE9800BCE?
1 Answer Robert, The different part numbers are due to a "series" change in the production of the range. When there is a production change, there is a change in the series, BOM, or production number. In your case, You need to look at the serial number on the production tag. If the first two digits of the serial number are 10 thru 20, then you will need to order the W10823704/12500039 element kit. If the serial number digits start with 21 or above, you will need to order the W10823704/ 74002653 element,W/limiter. Thanks Read More...

Lisa August 04, 2015 I have a ceramic cooktop stove in a rental property we just purchased and two burners do not work. One in front and one in back diagonally from each other. Is it possible for both burners to have broken? Or could it be an electrical issue? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Lisa. It could be the burners, wiring, or the switches bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
