Gina August 11, 2014 for Model Number GBD307PDB1 Whirlpool gold series double oven shut down during the self cleaning process. I was advised to changed thermal fuse part# 4451042. I did and the oven control panel is back on but, the upper oven heating elements are not getting hot at all. What should I do next?
1 Answer Hello Gina, There is a thermal fuse WP9759243 for the upper bake compartment and another just like it for the lower bake compartment. The one for the upper bake compartment is most likely open. These are located on the back of the unit under the outer-most panel. Read More...
Mike August 06, 2014 for Model Number RBD275PDQ8 The accubake double oven was locked up after cleaning cycle! I replaced a AP3110028 thermo fuse because it was bad! When the power came back on it was in the cooling mode! My sister tried to cut off the cleaning and it went to E2 F2 E2 code! We shut the breaker and waited about twenty minutes! Turned on the power and the display went to PH and the clock was on the display! Then the clock went off in about 30 seconds! Then the E2 F2 E2 code came on!
1 Answer Mike, The unit is not showing a F2 E2 error code but any of the error codes that start with F2 error would be an indication that there is a problem with the keypad. You will want to check the keypad connection for a firm connection. Press cancel and if the error code returns after 60 sec. replace the keypad, if not replace the control board. Read More...
M.H. July 13, 2014 for Model Number rbd305pdb14 SN: xr10076300 My double oven stopped working. The lights still come on in the ovens when the doors open and we get beeping when pressing buttons on the operator interface but the display is dead and we don't get any heat. Before it failed, the display was dim for a couple of months but the ovens still worked. Control board? Can I do the repair myself? Part Number? Thanks
1 Answer Hello M.H., This sounds like the low voltage "control transformer" WP9760587 has failed. If it tests good, check the thermal fuse WP4451354. Read More...
N. March 30, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool RBD275PDB2 My oven shut off while in use. It is a double oven. There is no heat, no lights, no display for either oven. I have checked to make sure there isn't a breaker flipped off. I asked advice through your online chat and was told that it may be the thermal fuse. They said there may be two of them since it is a double oven. Do I need to replace both fuses? Can you tell me the location of them and perhaps we can test the fuses to make sure they're bad before I order them? Thanks in advance.
1 Answer N., With the unit not having any power at all there is one thermal fuse that goes in between the control board and the L1 supply line that may have blown. You will want to check the continuity of the thermal fuse. This is a link type fuse and is located in the vent area of the oven near the terminal block. You can try to access this by disconnecting the power to the unit and removing the control panel and you would need to reach in to disconnect the fuse. Once the fuse is disconnected you would test the continuity of it and if there is no continuity then it would need to be replaced. Read More...
Kevin March 10, 2014 for Model Number RBD275PDB2 I have a Whirlpool RBD275PDB2 electric built in double oven. When using the oven the control panel goes blank. after it cools down it comes back on and works as normal. I assume it's the control panel, but could it be the fuse?
1 Answer Hello Kevin. From what you are describing it does sound like the control board part# 4448876 needs to be replaced. Unfortunately it has been discontinued and is no longer available. Read More...
Norm February 01, 2014 for Model Number GBD277PDB7 I ordered this fuse as a replacement but I could not install it as one connector is different. I'm told by customer service that the part received is a direct replacement. However, the replacement part has one 1/4" female spade and one 3/16" female spade while the original has two 1/4" female spades, one of which is uninsulated. Other than the lack of insulation, the different size is not readily apparent when looking at the original in situ. I am wondering if the spade can safely be replaced or if the harness plug can be replaced. If the fuse spade is the one changed, does it make a difference which direction to place?
1 Answer Hello Norm, The fuse with two 1/4 inch spade connectors is WPW10638608. This is the only one that should be used. The incorrect ones will not retro-fit. The difference is in the amperage. The direction does not matter with a fuse. Read More...
Chad January 31, 2014 for Model Number kdrp462lss08 I purchased part number 4451042. It has two female connections but different sizes 1/4" and 3/16". My original part has two 1/4" female connections. What is the correct part number for this application?
Norm M. January 06, 2014 for Model Number gbd277pdb7 The control panel went blank after my wife had her annual Christmas cookie marathon. I suspect it might be the thermal fuse similar to the one I was directed to on your website. When I entered the Whirlpool model number to check compatibility, a red message appeared that indicated that it was not. Do you have a thermal fuse that is for our oven?
1 Answer Hello Norm, Once again, we have to apologize for the compatibility tool. Please disregard it as it is still in work and is not recognizing all of the model and/or part numbers. There are actually two styles of these fuses. One has two flat connectors and the other has a hook on one end. You would need to order the one needed as per the style in the unit originally. Thermal Fuse with Hook On one End & Flat Terminal On Other Use WP4456654. For Thermal Fuse W/Flat Term On Both Use WP4451042. Read More...
Mark December 30, 2013 for Model Number KGST307HBS4 Recently, when heating the oven there is a strong gas odor that fills our kitchen and is very noticeable. I believed it was caused by a bad ignitor, however I can see both top and bottom heating elements glowing. Now the oven will not heat at all, whether in broil, convection, or any other mode. The ignitors glow, but nothing happens. What part can I replace to fix this? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Mark, The ignitors will have to turn almost white hot to pull enough current to open the gas valve. It sounds as though the ignitors were getting weak which caused the gas smell. I would use a clamp on ampmeter TJCL1100 on one wire to the ignitor and make sure they are pulling from 3.6 to 3.9 amps of current. This holds true for both the bake and broil ignitors WP9782065. If the proper current draw is not there, the ignitors have broken down in resistance and will require replacement. Read More...
Cj December 09, 2013 for Model Number RBS275PDB6 I purchased this part number4451042 that replaces part 4450814 and the two ends are female ends on the new part and the same on the ends of my oven wires how do you hook this up?
1 Answer CJ, Your best option is to order WP4456654, Although the part you ordered is "correct" for the brand and model. Being a "safety" device, you don't want to attempt to splice it into the harness or modify it in any way. It may have been modified on the production line at the time of manufacture. Read More...
