Dunny April 24, 2016 for Model Number GEW9250PL0 had a huge electrical storm, dryer does not even respond, no lights anything. Breakers are all good. i suspect the controller. Would this fix it?
1 Answer Hello Dunny. Test for power to the control board. If it is there and the unit does not work, you will need to replace the control board in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
James September 12, 2015 for Model Number gww9250pw1 Thermos, fuse, igniter, flame switch, thermistor and coils all check out. Could it be the board ?
1 Answer James, With everything checking out, yes it could be the machine control board WP8546219. You will want to access the board, program a dry cycle and carefully check for voltage out of the heater relay "COM" terminal on the board. If you have the voltage , then you'll need to check for a broken wire or check the motor centrifugal switch to make sure it is "closed" when the motor runs and completes the neutral leg of the circuit to the burner assembly components. Kent May 20, 2015 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 I just replaced the idler pulley on my dryer and it was working fine for several loads. Now, When I press the start button the dryer will run for about 1 minute and then shuts off and an "E1" error coded flashes on the panel. The heating element is working because it gets hot in that minute. I made sure the lint tube was clean and not kinked. What should I check next?
1 Answer Hello Kent. That is a thermistor error. The machine control electronics monitors the exhaust temperature using the thermistor, and cycles the heater relay on and off to maintain the desired temperature. Begin with an empty dryer and a clean lint screen. 1. Plug in dryer or reconnect power. 2. Set the following configuration: ? Door – must be firmly closed ? Press Control On ? Press End Of Cycle Signal (Louder) ? Press Start 3. If after 60 seconds, E1 or E2 flashes in the display and the dryer shuts off, the thermistor or wire harness is either shorted or open. ? Unplug dryer or disconnect power. ? Check wire connections at the machine control electronics and thermistor. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies, page 7, and figure 8 for thermistor location. ? If wire connections are good, remove the two wires from the thermistor and replace the thermistor. See figure 8. ? Plug in dryer or reconnect power. Read More...
Ron May 20, 2015 for Model Number GEW9250PL0 Started having problems with the user control locking and it could not be unlocked. then sometimes you could select certain cycles and it would dry and sometimes you couldn't select anything. I repalced this user interface (8558756) and it worked perfectly for about a week. Now there is no power at all. Nothing will light up. Do you think this has gone bad again or some other problem? I checked the main control board with a meter and it's getting power.
1 Answer Hello Ron. You will need to check and make sure there are no loose or bad wire connections on the unit. If all are good, you will need to see if the main control board WP8546219 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Chuck May 04, 2014 for Model Number GGW9250PW0 I'm wondering what else could be wrong. I've replaced the thermal fuse, Flame sensor, Gas coils, Thermistor, THRMST-FIX, and put a new ignitor on. The flame will come on for a few minutes...shut off...and in a minute or so will come on again...it repeats like this and doesn't dry the clothes well. Could the control board be bad? I also have cleaned all passages completely, removing all lint. Is there another thermostat on the back of this dryer that I've missed somehow?
1 Answer Hello Chuck, This could be the control board but I would suspect the gas valve first because of the operating characteristic of the part. The burner is designed to switch on and off and this action is controlled by the gas valve and thermistor WP8577274. If the unit is set up for natural gas you will need gas valve WP8318281. If set up for LP, you will need the conversion kit 49572A. At this point if the problem persists, I would consider changing the control WP8546219. Read More...
Kathy October 09, 2013 for Model Number gew9250pw1 When I press the "Control On" button the panel does not light up. Sometimes we can keep pushing and turning the knob and it will light up and dry just fine. I have been told this could be the user control and display board or the main control panel. I need to know which one could be causing this problem. I don't want to order the wrong part and be without my dryer even longer.
Al September 14, 2012 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 Is it the control panel that needs to be fixed if the dryer only works on the heavy duty cycle to dry and it starts up when you press the pause button and stops when you press the start button? 1 Answer Hello Al. Yes, based on the information you provided, you will need to replace the control panel WP8558756. Read More...
Tom September 26, 2011 for Model Number GGW9250PL1 serial #MS3404479 I have intermittant problems that I think tie back to the operators control panel. The dryers that I have are pewter. I have a tough time believing that the color of the dryer drives the cost of the operators interface but that seems to be the case. Can this be confirmed please?
1 Answer Hello Tom! Yes, the color of parts can make a difference in the prices. For the pewter control panel use part number 8558751. For the matching user interface used on your unit is part number WP8558756. Thanks! Read More...
