Bls January 15, 2013 for Model Number gd25dfxfw02 I need to replace the broken ice Dispenser Auger Drum 4388736. Can you give me specific direction on how I can do this myself? Thanks
1 Answer Hello BLS, We do not have instructions for replacing the auger drum that can be sent. To replace the drum you will first remove the front cover which is held in by 2 screws in on the bottom and 2 screws on the inside. You will then need to remove the clip that is on the white washer and remove the screw holding the arm in place at the back of bin. Then remove the cover by removing 4 screws holding it in place. You will want to take note of how the crusher assembly is on the shaft as it will need to go back the same way. Take of crusher blades and drum and install new drum and reassemble. Read More...
Linda January 03, 2013 for Model Number KSRG25FVMS02 Water and Ice dispenser does not work. Purchased refrigerator in 2010. When release is pressed to dispense either ice or water, it is just dead. No noise or anything. It is unlocked and a new filter is in place. Makes ice just fine. Any clue what this might be and whether it is covered under normal warranty?
1 Answer Hello Linda, You should first check at the door hinge to make sure the harness is plugged in securely. If no problem is found there, the W10728484 probably has one or more pins broken that hold the micro switch in position. The second issue should be covered under warranty if the warranty is still in effect, (the manufacturers warranty only covers functional parts for one year). The only way this would be covered would be if you purchased a service agreement that is still in effect. Read More...
Joe Penney December 03, 2012 for Model Number ed2jhgxrtoo Wwhere can I find a diagram of this assembly?
1 Answer Hi Joe, just enter your model number ED2JHGXRT00 on our website and you can look at the Motor and Ice Container sections for a break down on the ice container. Stan November 08, 2011 for Model Number Kitchenaid refrigerator model KFIS25XVMSOO Frig bought in 2008. Ice jammed where bin drops it through the door. There are two "paddles" or blades at the end of the auger which turn when ice is requested. These are white plastic and have broken. Part is similar to AP3109184 but doesn't have a drum (circle of plastic) around the blades. Would this fit? Would this be a redesign/improvement to prevent future blade breakage?
1 Answer Stan, This is a different situation. You need to order the bin assembly WPW10324090 in order to maintain the proper operation of the dispenser. The 4388736 may work, but no, it is not a redesign or substitute improved oart for your refrigerator. Thanks and good Luck Read More...
Rex M. July 16, 2011 for Model Number ED2JHGXRQ02 I keep having problems with the ice dispenser jaming. I had to replace the Ice bin auger drum. It was broken and chewed into pieces. Since that time, when it gets jammed, I dump the bin and remove an ice cube that is wedged in the crusher blades. Occurs about every 4 to 7 days. Any suggestions?-
1 Answer HI Rex. There is a Ice Door Kit that will not close an it will allow ambient temperatures to go back up into the chute and collect and freeze like you said. This part # is W10823377. Thank you. Read More...
