Jj September 29, 2011 for Model Number JennAir Dishwasher JDB1100AWS The plastic hook in the door which latches onto the main body is broken, now the door doesn't close securely (no clicking sound). Which part should I buy? I notice that AP4264452 is a more complete assembly, but somehow is cheaper than the other one that doesn't have the handle. How come? Would either one work? Thanks. -JJ

Lee September 23, 2011 for Model Number MDBH945 How do I test the latch for continuity? I understand how to use a mulimeter, I'm not sure what to test for continuity on the latch.
1 Answer Lee, You want to test the door latch (2)micro switches. The easiest way is to remove the latch assembly from the door, remove and label the wires, check the switch circuits, the door klatch would be in the unlocked position and both switches would have "open" circuits. push the latch assembly onto the tub latch strike (like the door was closed) and recheck both switches for a "closed" circuit. Upon using the dishwasher, water was pumped in and then the dishwasher just stopped; all lights were out on the door panel. We checked the breaker, thinking that was a problem; however, that wasn't an issue, so we started the washer again and water overflowed in the floor because we had double the water. The unit again stopped and did not operate. What could be the problem?
