This is a Whirlpool washer drive motor and control board. The drive motor and motor control board are responsible for the spin cycles of the washer. A faulty motor may show signs of malfunction through a slower than average spin cycle. When the control board shorts out, the washer typically will not spin at all.Begin installation by removing the body of the washer. There are two screws at the base of the console. Remove these screws and flip the console back. Two clips are holding the body in place. Remove them with a flat-head screwdriver. Push these clips and pull the body off the washer. Now that the motor is exposed, remove the screws holding the motor in place with a nut driver. Two more clips fasten the motor. Push these clips with the flat head, and the motor is free to remove. Unplug the control board's wire harness from the washer. The new component is ready for install after these steps. The part is sourced directly from the manufacturer as a genuine OEM product. This kit is sold separately from the washer. This product is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, and Admiral appliances.

For Whirlpool Drive Motor (Part Number: OEM12030444)

Brian for Model Number MAH5500BWW

I have the Maytag Neptune Model MAH5500BWW ser. B2664941 EV purchased 01/05, my machine runs until the spin cycle then 85% of the time ends with a LR code. If you turn it off and then open the door and close it and push spin it will complete the cycle and finish normally. I've run through the diagnostics and the only codes I had were 06 locked rotor, and 02 door fails to unlock, which may have been caused from unplugging it. It passes the quick spin test, and passes the quick service cycle, and passes the motor control output test, same with door lock and unlock tests, and the motor windings also read correctly. It says if motor windings are good replace the motor control board. We have always used non HE soap, is there a possibility the low level pressure switch could be gummed up and causing this issue or should I just go ahead and order the motor and board conversion kit # AP4010145? Thank You in advance, Brian

Hello Terry. You will need to check and see if there is power coming to the motor 12002039. If so, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor kit. Also, if the sounds is a roaring sound in spin, you may need to replace the tub assembly 22004465 due to bad bearings. Hope this helps.

Frank, You don't have to replace the wax motor kit everytime you replace the motor or motor control assembly. If it is the original(never replaced) wax motor, you should seriously consider it more as a maintenance or improved parts issue vs. reccomendation. Good Luck and Thanks.

Hey Grant, start the machine in any cycle. Allow 60-90 seconds, then check the door lock light on the control panel. It should be on, you should not be able to open the door. If you can, you most likely will have to change the wax motor WP22002119 and main board WP22004325. Hope this helps!
