This is a Whirlpool washer drive motor and control board. The drive motor and motor control board are responsible for the spin cycles of the washer. A faulty motor may show signs of malfunction through a slower than average spin cycle. When the control board shorts out, the washer typically will not spin at all.Begin installation by removing the body of the washer. There are two screws at the base of the console. Remove these screws and flip the console back. Two clips are holding the body in place. Remove them with a flat-head screwdriver. Push these clips and pull the body off the washer. Now that the motor is exposed, remove the screws holding the motor in place with a nut driver. Two more clips fasten the motor. Push these clips with the flat head, and the motor is free to remove. Unplug the control board's wire harness from the washer. The new component is ready for install after these steps. The part is sourced directly from the manufacturer as a genuine OEM product. This kit is sold separately from the washer. This product is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, and Admiral appliances.

Getting the Lr error code. went through the diagnostics. have 120Vac going into motor control board. when i run the spin test the motor starts and spins but it's erratic. took off motor harness hooked meter to blk and grey wires. started spin test and noticed the voltage spiking. then put back harness on motor and kept tester on harness, motor ran erratic and same voltage fluctuation. Now it looks like i can purchase the repair kit on this page or buy the motor control board by it's self. $250 for kit $190 for board alone. for $60 more dollars i get a new motor. what should i do. also my washers motor is still on warrranty for one more year.

Stewart, Your motor tach circuit/ data link is the JP4 harness on the motor control board and is attaches to the P2 connector on the machine control board. Check for 12 to 20 VDC across the blue and yellow wires on the P2 connector. In agitate, the VDC will fluctuate 0 to 5 VDC. On spin The voltage will fluctuate up to 20 VDC and will drop and "settle " around 12 VDC when the tub reaches a full spin speed. Also depending on your series number(first two digits of the serial number), you may have to order the individual parts, and the motor control board would be the most likely issue, in that case.

Hello Kay. No, if the lock light is not coming on, you will check and see if R-11 is burnt on the machine control board 12001725. If so, replace the board and the wax motor WP22002119 in the lock assembly.

i bought this new in '07 ish and first year the board burnt up got it replace under warranty then they sent me a breaker adapter for power i added it worked fine until now.... it wash fine but when it get down to 35 min it stalls the pump keep trying to pump water out but its alleady drain.. but it says rince cycle and no spin at all pump making noises( i did check and no debris in pump) then sometime i get nd code.... but it can stay at 35 min for 1 hr sometimes.. and just pumping nothing since its empty but then it goes to 34 min and starts spinning fine and rince out then fast spin ok whats wrong with it?? is there a sensor for water level couuld be bad?

1 Answer

Alain, Your next check should be the air dome pressure switch hose, disconnect it from the water level switch and blow in the tube to clear any debris or sediment in the tube then check or replace the water level switch WP34001324 if the switch has a faulty circuit or the tube remains full of air, the switch wont reset to empty and the washer wiill not spin or continue the cycle and you'll get the "ND" error code(no drain). Good Luck and Thanks

Dana for Model Number mah3000awa

I'm gonna start from the beginning!! bought a neptune washer and dryer from a friend, paid 100 bucks for both, they look great and were clean inside and out. was told that a repair man replaced the motor but still didn't work, read a bunch and decided to replace the wax motor, and did. the upper control panel has no blown resistor and looks good, (no burnt areas or corrosion at all). after that the washer would power up and move the drum slowly for a few seconds and shut off. I was told that when you replace the motor, you need to replace it with the matching control board, so I ordered AP4010145 motor kit from you guys and installed it. needless to say I'm still having problems. when you press the power button it will splash a little water in and turn the motor a bit and shut off, and that's all. I just ordered a set of indicator lights and an on\off button, I managed to break off the delay and on lights, and the door locked light don't light up. the door locks and the inside light button does work. I'm replacing the lights for obvious reasons and replacing the start button because I have to hold it down for a second for it to do what it does. am I going in the right direction? btw, the drum spins nice and smooth, the front seal looks beautiful, the lock on the door works great. the inside of the washer is clean and looks as good as new.

I replaced the original motor control board in this washer several yrs ago with the motor and control kit. The original board had an obvious burned spot on it. Now the washer showed an Lr code and will not spin or agitate (only me!) It will fill and pump out, and the door will lock and unlock. The board shows no visual signs of damage, but it was immersed in water during a flood a couple of years ago. I don't think that water reached the motor however. Does this sound like what I need to replace again? Thanks

1 Answer

Hello Steve. Yes, if there is power to the control board, and it does not run, you will need to replace the motor kit 12002039. Hope this helps.

Hello Tony. Check and see if the door is locking on the unit. If not, you will need to replace the control board 12001725 and the wax motor WP22002119. Look on the control board and see if the R-11 resistor is burnt out. If so, you will need to replace both parts. Hope this helps.

Trent for Model Number MLE2000AYW

I have a Maytag Neptune front load washing machine and dryer stacked. I replaced the pump I bought from your site, but the clothes are still wet at the end of operation. The R11 is fine, the unit is balanced, and I tried it with no clothes in it and there was still water in the drum. From all I have seen, and since it does not seem to be spinning out, the motor is the last option. What part do I need to buy to replace this? Or do I only need to buy part of this assembly? Thank you.

1 Answer

Trent, Are you sure there is water left in the tub ? if so you need to check the drain hose(s) for clogs or kinks. you may be hearing the liquid balnce ring in the front of the tub, sounds like water is splashing. The washer has to drain and the water level switch reset to "empty" so the washer can spin properly, check the air dome hose and switch. From there check the spin enable switch circuit( switch on the latch assembly on the right side with the yellow and red wire attached, If the switch or wiring is defective, the door will lock, but the tub won't spin. Good Luck and Thanks
