Ed January 29, 2014 for Model Number kudso1flss My dishwasher would not turn on. I replaced the main control board and fuse. I have power now. Water fills up to cut off. The float activates and then nothing happens?
1 Answer Hello Ed, This sounds like there is another issue. The unit should be filling on a timed basis and the float switch should not be activating. You need to run the diagnostic mode and see if any fault codes come up. DIAGNOSTICS CYCLES AND RAPID ADVANCE SERVICE FEATURE: Pressing the following option keys in the sequence shown will either start the Diagnostics Cycle or turn on the Rapid Advance feature for stepping through customer selectable cycles: HIGH TEMP SCRUB - AIR DRY - HIGH TEMP SCRUB - AIR DRY --OR-- SANI RINSE-AIR DRY-SANI RINSE- AIR DRY If this key sequence is entered after starting a cycle, the Rapid Advance feature is turned on, which allows the operator to manually advance the currently running cycle, interval by interval, by pressing the Pots&Pans/Heavy or Anti-Bacteria/Cookware cycle key. If the above key sequence is entered with the dishwasher in Standby, the Diagnostics Cycle is started. The Diagnostics Cycle can be rapid-advanced, interval by interval, by pressing the Pots&Pans/Heavy or Anti-Bacteria/Cookware cycle key. All of this information is available on the tech sheet located in a plastic bag behind the kick panel. Read More...

Aaron January 13, 2014 for Model Number kenmore 665.17039402 Everything works except it will not drain. Took apart housing and made sure motor was free. Could it be the capacitor?
1 Answer Hello Aaron. No, the model number you provided has a drain pump WP661658 and it does not use a capacitor. Check for power and if it is there, and the unit does not run, replace the drain pump. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Barry December 28, 2013 for Model Number GU2600XTPS1 Dishwasher wont drain. No blockages. Drain pump test good. Could the circulation motor be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Barry. No, if the unit does not drain and the motor and hose are good, you will need to replace the control or look for bad wiring in the unit. Jack M December 26, 2013 for Model Number kuds01ij My kitchen aide dishwasher fills with water and then makes a loud humming noise. I took apart the chopping assembly thinking it might be clogged and found nothing wrong. I reassembled and tried again. Still bad. Do you think I have a bad circulation pump? Anne November 07, 2013 for Model Number 66516293402 Hi, The water does not seem to go to the top rack sprayer or the one that that is mounted on the top of the dishwasher and does not have much pressure in the bottom sprayer. It barely cleans the dishes on the bottom tray. Does this mean motor that pumps the water in is shot? Any other potential options? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Anne. First make sure the water level is correct and the filters are clean. If so, then it is an impeller issue in the unit. Read More...
Gary October 15, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool dishwasher GU1500XTKT0 My dishwasher started making more noise than usual. Not real loud, just more of a whine than it used to. I disassembled it enough to find the chopper was broken and the pump sump screen is partially clogged. I will replace the chopper. I want to remove the motor to clean the pump screen and inspect the impeller. I hoping that cleaning the screen will fix it and I don't have to replace the motor. My question is, can I remove and reinstall the motor with the existing volute gasket, or should I replace the gasket with a new one? That is, is reusing the gasket likely to cause a leak?
1 Answer Hello Gary. You can remove it and use the old gasket. However, most likely it is the motor bearing making noise, not the chopper. But it is worth a try. Read More...
