J.D.D. September 19, 2013 for Model Number kuds01ijbt1 Will not cycle. Water fills bottom of dishwasher but washing cycles will not work. Receive a humming noise. Cancel drain works perfectly. Are there 2 motors in this dishwasher?
2 Answers Hello J.D.D., This unit has a seperate circulation pump W10782773 from the drain pump WP661658. It sounds like you may have debris in the circulation pump impeller, prevent it from turning. This would explain the hum. Read More...

Darren September 07, 2013 for Model Number GU2300XTLS0 Hello. The problem I'm having is this: My dishwasher fills with water. The panel shows that it is sensing and washing. Once that stops nothing happens. It sounds like its attempting to wash but nothing happens. From time to time a smell like if something is burning. Once I hit cancel though, the unit drains. Is it the circulation motor that needs replacing?
1 Answer Darren, You will want to check to make sure that there is power getting to the recirculation motor and check down inside the pump to make sure that the impeller is not jammed by some type of debris that would keep the motor from turning. Read More...

Bayougal August 13, 2013 for Model Number KUDP02CRWH4 My Kitchenaid dishwasher (model KUDP02CRWH4) suddenly began making a very loud buzzing noise when operating during the wash cycle. It cleans the dishes fine and is draining fine - no leaks and no unusual noises when draining. I have disassembled and cleaned the lower wash assembly, sump cover and filter, and food chopper assembly. I did find some debris which I removed and cleaned thoroughly. The impeller was extremely hard to turn when I removed the food chopper assembly. So, I flushed it out with clean water and a turkey baster. The impeller is turning now, but I feel resistance. Should this be spinning freely? Could this be the source of such a loud noise?
1 Answer Bayougal, Yes, the impeller having resistance could be the cause especially if the noise is a loud squeeling type noise. This would be an indicator that the bearings are going out and need to replace the motor. Read More...
Jeremy August 02, 2013 for Model Number 66513462K901 Please help?? I purchased a dishwasher off of craigslist and the first time I hooked it up it wouldn't drain. It would fill up a little and shut itself off. Come to realize that the knock out on my garbage disposal was never actually knocked out. Prier to figuring out the knock out. I. Took the entire dishwasher apart and put it back together thinking maybe a clog. This thing is truly emaculate no gunk at all. So. I put it back together and run it. It works!!! Drains and everything!! I hadn't hooked it up in the actual spot were it goes. So. I unhooked it, slid it into the spot, and hooked it back up the same way. Went to run it again and same thing as before, it fills up a little bit and shuts back off. No hoses are kinked or clogged. Both times before when it wouldn't drain. I had to pull it outside and pull the hose from the bottom of the dishwasher to drain. This last time, I pulled the hose nothing drained out and there is still water inside the dishwasher. What is going on? Do I have a bad pump or control board? I reset the control board last night by hitting the heated dry and normal wash back to back twice. Still wont drain. When i hit the cancel/drain button, I think, I hear the little float thing on the inside of the dishwasher that determines the water level, I hear it click once or twice. Please help, my landlord left getting one up to me and has already credited my rent. Any advice?
1 Answer Hello Jeremy. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the drain pump WPW10348269 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Noel D July 23, 2013 for Model Number KUDR01TJBT0 I REMOVED THE MOTOR/IMPELLER ASSEMBLY FROM THE PUMP HOUSING TO SEE IF THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SOMETHING LODGED IN THE IMPELLER, AS THE THE DISCHARGE PUMP WORKS FINE, BUT THE MOTOR SOUNDS LIKE IT IS BINDING WHEN THE WATER SHOULD BE CIRCULATING, THE MOTOR SHAFT SPINS FREELY APART FROM THE HOUSING, BUT IT DOES NOT CIRCULATE WATER INSID THE MACHINE. COULD THE MOTOR STILL BE BAD EVEN THOUGH THE SHAFT SPINS FREELY ON ITS OWN
1 Answer Noel, Did you also remove the accumulator assembly 8193918 and protector WP8531857 to check to see if an article was lodged in the housing or on the chopper assembly W10083957V causing the blade to "slip" on the motor/impeller shaft. If all's OK, then yes, the motor WPW10757217 could be the issue Read More...
Becky B. July 19, 2013 for Model Number Kitchenaid dishwasher W66516483300 We just installed a new circulation pump motor part no W10239405 into our Kitchenaid dishwasher, model 66516483300. After we were finished with the install and it was back up and running, we realized we forgot to install the soil senser shield. How important is this part? Can we leave it out?
1 Answer Becky, Yes the soil sensor shield is pretty important, and needs to be installed in the sump. There is the possibility that an article of debris into the sensor and create other issues like erratic flush and drain cycles. You do need to install the shield. Read More...
