Larry, Based on the information, this does sound like it would be a faulty door lock and may need to get the main control board as well. Check it for the R11 resistor being burnt.

James for Model Number Maytag MLE2000AYW

Hello, when starting a load in the washer machine I select which wash option I want and press start. The washer will start and a few minutes will go by and it will stop. I would then move the washer timer one click in progression to continue the wash and the washer will come back on. It will do this multiple time and multiple time I will progress the timer forward to wash the load. I figured the washer timer was bad since I did not have a connection or board issue. I have since replace the timer with WP22002452 and I am having the same issue as before. Now I have noticed that the "locked" light will be on one min and off the next but washer will still function as if it were on. What could cause this, I'm open for suggestions? I just want to wash a load of clothes without hovering over the machine :)

James, you will want to check the wiring from the timer to the machine control [WP22004325] because if the machine control does not sense return voltage from the timer, it can cause this issue. Another thing that the machine control is responsible for is sensing the door lock. If the control has failed, it will certainly cause these issues for you.

Danny, This unit does not have a wax motor on it and you would want to check to make sure that the door lock is working properly as far as the spin enable switch working. If this checks ok then the issue would most likely be the main control board.

Richard, You are on the right track with the wax motor being the issue. You can test the wax motor when the unit is calling for the detergent cup to open. Check to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the wax motor. If there is then the wax motor is faulty and would need to be replaced and if not then the issue would be the controls/timer.

Robin, Sorry but No, the WP22002119 wax motor will not work on your washer latch assembly. You will need to repalce the complete door latch assembly 131763256 in order for your washer to operate properly. The E43 code indicates and issue in the control board. and it usually does is due to a faulty door latch assembly.

Hello Jim. A wax motor WP22002119 is just that. It has a disc and wax inside and as the power passes, it heats up and expands the wax, and once the power is removed, it comes back to normal.

Hello Jamie, These are common to have a foreign object up inside them that you cannot retrieve or a separated impeller from the drain pump motor shaft. This sounds like you need a drain pump WP22003059.
