Hello Laura, likely the bake burner ignitor is weak/worn and not opening the gas valve fully, the ignitor is part 74007498. If you are checking the bake or broil burner operation with the oven door open the control board will time out (usually 30 sec to 2 min) and disable the oven heating as a safety, usually, this is not a problem with normal oven use.

Hello Dave, If the unit has been converted and is converted correctly, the air shutter needs to be closed off some to prevent the flame from lifting up off of the burner. Flame characteristics can be changed by adjusting the primary air intake at the air shutter. On burners that do not have adjustable shutters, kits are available to make adjustments possible. If the unit has not been converted the air shutter should still be addressed but if the unit has been converted the conversion should be looked at closely to ensure it has been converted correctly.

Hello Gordon, This sounds like you are not set up for the gas you have connected to the unit. There is natural gas and LP gas. Each one use their own set of orifices and set up procedures to ensure the complete consumption of the gas. Without proper setup, poisonous gasses are produced, so the unit has to be set up properly to provide normal operation. Let us know what gas is provided to the unit and we will let you what parts need to be changed and/or adjusted to provide proper gas consumption and normal operation.

Hi Howard. Has there been another gas appliance worked on in the home recently ? Use a soap and bubble spray to test the connection to see where the leak may come from. Wipe up the soap after checking for leaks. It is common under these circumstances it will cause an issue. Look at the conversion instructions on the rt. side of the page. See where the Safety valve cap changes from Lp - to - Natural ? The natural position has to immediately show when someone lifts the plastic cap for future reference. It is important for the cap holder eyelet be put back on the cap on the bottom half where it threads w/ the cap and holds tight like a spacer washer below the cap nut. This will help align the inner spring pressure so it is properly engaging the inner diaphragm. If this is not the case and all is well, then you have a bad safety valve that will not close. You should really shut the safety valve lever off and not use it until this issue is repaired. Safety valve part # 12002227. Thank You.
