John July 24, 2013 for Model Number ARS9266BS This overload/relay looks the same as the old part but the connection plug is different. The three hole side is ok and the capacitor fits fine, it is the connection to the power in side that will not fit. Please help with installation instructions.
1 Answer Hello John. The wire connector should fit the unit. Make sure you have it turned over the correct way so it locks into the starter. Read More...

Troy N April 26, 2013 for Model Number 59672213200 I'm trying to replace the relay overload on my Kenmore refrigerator, part #12555902. But the part you show for relacing it is configured differently. I can adjust for the wire hookups on one side but the side that mounts on the compressor is different. My old part has three prongs, like the video you show. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Troy N. The overload kit WP12555902 has the three holes for the compressor terminals. You will remove the capacitor from your old one and install it onto this one. Read More...

Allen H September 13, 2012 for Model Number gb2shkxlt00 The part I recieved does not look like the one I have. I believe this is an updated part, but the wire connections are not in the same place and one is larger than the other. Could you please tell me if I need to cut my original wiring harness, and if so, which wire goes where? Thankeyou. Allen
1 Answer Allen, The wiring to the relay should be attached in the following locations, The Blue wire(L1) should attach to the top horizontal terminal of the new assembly. The White wire (N) should attach the the vertical terminal on the right side of the assembly( in some cases, you may have to replace the 1/4 in terminal with a 1/8 in terminal). The run capacitor will slip onto the peg and slide back so the two terminals insert and lock into place in the two horizontal slots on the bottom of the assembly. Read More...

Bob August 02, 2012 for Model Number ars266zbb The power went out for 5 days then the unit got warm and couldn't get it to get the right temperature. It just kept getting warmer. The lights and fans work but it keeps on making a clicking noise.
Dee July 04, 2012 for Model Number BCI21V1W Freezer was working till last nite noticed frost on back wall of freezer. unplugged unit. This morning plugged back in I noticed fans never clicked on only thing on is the light inside. Does it have to get to a certain temp before the fan starts ? Do I need to hit this relay if so where is it located and what does it look like?? Or do I start saving for a new refer??
1 Answer Dee, At this point, you needn't work with the overload relay WP12555902 At this point it sounds like a defrost issue. Yes, the thermostat has to reach a certain temperature before the fans will start to run. You'll need to remove the freezer back wall and check the defrost heater WP10428409 defrost thermostat WP10442411 and timer R0131577 located in the compressor compartment in the back of the fridge, with a multi meter, to determine which component has failed. Tim May 27, 2012 for Model Number ARB224RCC I have an Amana (ARB224RCC)purchased approximately 2003. It suddenly stopped cooling (both freezer and frig are at room temperature). 1) Power to the relay is 120v. 2) Both fans are working fine. 3) The compressor was hot to the touch before unplugging the frig. 4) The three contacts on compressor are NOT shorted out to compressor shell. 5) The relay itself is full of small black particles (like course ground pepper). They fall out with shaking. 6) Attempting to discharge the capacitor after removal showed it was NOT charged at all. Does a bad relay seem the most likely problem at this point? Does the capacitor being discharged mean anything? Does the compressor being hot-to-the-touch mean anything?
1 Answer Hello Tim. Yes, based on the information you provided, the relay overload WP12555902 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
