George July 16, 2014 for Model Number ksss42mdx05 Compressor was not working, replaced relay/overload, compressor now working but freezer fan motor not working, with door open getting 120v only sometime, fan motor was trying to run, bearings in motor are worn. tried new motor, cannot get to work. is switch for light and fan,
1 Answer George, The freezer door switch isn't going to be the issue, it only controls power to the lights and dispenser if equipped. Power to the evaporator fan is supplied through the refrigerator control board 4388656. You'll need to check the wiring for loose connections and replace the assembly if the intermittent voltage persists. Read More...
Dale October 09, 2013 for Model Number 106.55203400 Hello ice maker isn't dispensing ice. It fills with water when empty but the issue seems to be the ice flap sensor / the red light comes on seems to think door is open but light comes on and off don't think it is that . I did order this switch. Is there another switch to use? The sensor light blinks and when solid it is ready what part controls the sensor light that knows it is closed for ice maker?

Louis C M. October 08, 2013 for Model Number 106.55203400 I have purchased this part in hopes that it would fix the problem with my icemaker not reading the door is closed and not dispensing. I am not able to see where this part is though or how to install it. The sensor is blinking twice when the door is open and when the button is pressed
1 Answer Louis, The Door interlock switch W11396033 is located on the hinge side of the opening when the door is opened, but it is not likely the issue. Based on the post information your issue is in the Refrigerator PC Board KIT W11629974. Try this : OPEN THE FREEZER DOOR- LED 2 PULSES FOLLOWED BY A 1 SECOND DELAY. (REPEATED)=THE FLAPPER DOOR ON THE EMITTER IS BLOCKING THE BEAM or THE OPTICS ARE FAULTY. PRESS IN THE EMITTER DOOR TO UNBLOCK THE BEAM - 2 PULSES FOLLOWED BY A 1 SECOND DELAY.(REPEATED) THE OPTICS ARE FAULTY = REPLACE EMITTER & RECEIVER BOARD or LED IS ON SOLID = OPTICS ARE WORKING - CLOSE FREEZER DOOR. Betsy April 20, 2013 for Model Number msd2274veb00 Where is the water dispenser switch located? Could this be my problem? The ice maker works just fine - but the water dispenser dispenses water and never stops! I replaced the control board but that wasn't the problem - also the dispenser panel beeps non-stop - we had to put a toothpick into the "Lock" control to shut it up. If I plug the water back in on the back of the refrigerator, the water will come out of the dispenser automatically and not stop. Can you help>
1 Answer Betsy, This unit does not have a dispenser switch. The switch would be incorporated into the dispenser pad W10176455. You can switch the wiring of the pad from the ice dispenser and see if it continues to run. This would tell you whether the pad is stuck or not the pad at all. Also disconnect the wire harness to the water dispenser valve in the back of the unit and see if it continues to run. If so then the water valve is bad and would need to be replaced. Also check to make sure that the unit is not set for a measured fill. If this is the case and it never reached its volume then it would cause the dispenser to not shut off. Read More...
1 Answer Hello John, the correct light switch for your model is W11291138. Disconnect power before attempting the repair. If you look at the picture you will see there is a retainer tab that holds the switch in. You need to release the tab by sliding a thin butter knife or blade as you pry outward. You will likely have to work your way around the switch to locate the release tab. Once released, you can disconnect the wires from the old switch and install the new one. Hope this helps! Gina November 11, 2012 for Model Number mf12568aew I ordered a light switch part and removed them to do that even though I put them back and if I manually press on the right one the light come on but I am unable to get the water or ice to come out now is this a related problem???
1 Answer Hello Gina, Based on the information provided it sounds like the wires are connected wrong. If you push in on switch the lights should go off. If you release switch lights would come on. If the switch is reading that the lights are on when the door is closed then the dispenser will not work. Read More...
Handy Man March 14, 2012 for Model Number JED2295KES I'm replacing the light switch, part # 12002646 and the wire doesn't come out far enough to insert onto the new switch. I've tried pulling gently but I dont want to break the wires. Please help!
1 Answer Hello Handy Man. I use a pair of needle nosed pliers to connect the wires. I know this sounds hard, but it is. You just have to go slow and try to have patience with it. You see, the opening is so small that if they put longer wires on the switch, there wouldn't be room for the wires. (The wires would prevent the switch form having room to fit in the hole). I know this wasn't much help but I still hope this helped some. Have a great day! Read More...
Michael March 11, 2012 for Model Number MFI2568AEQ Replacing the light switch...I managed to get the switch out. It did not want to come out. It broke in several pieces. My question is...The switch is out, the plug is not. It seems to be molded into the foam insulation. Do I cut the foam out of the way? Or what? The plug is in the foam very tight. Please help...
1 Answer Hello Michael. If you can install the switch without cutting the foam, then it is ok to do so. If not, and the plug for the light switch is stuck in the foam, you will need to remove the switch from the foam to install it onto the light switch W11396033. Only remove the foam around the switch and remove the switch from the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
