Kelly March 09, 2022 for Model Number KRSF705HPS00 Evap coil on the refrigerator side have frosted over. there is not a defrost thermostat there for me to check. would the thermistor be what I need to replace? I did look at the 2 control boards and they seem to be ok. Thanks for help.
1 Answer Kelly, The part that would be needed is W11449066. It is showing that the unit does have a defrost thermostat which is part of this harness. Read More...
Payam December 10, 2021 for Model Number wrv976fdem01 I have a dual evap bottom mount. My freezer compartment is fine but my fresh food is at 50C. The airflow is not a problem. I tested the thermistor and it reads 2.4 kohm at room temp and 7.8 kohm at 32C is this accurate. I replaced this thermistor with a new one and the refrigerator worked perfectly for 2 months then the fresh food compartment went back to blowing 50c air.
1 Answer Payam, Thanks for the question!!! Sounds like you need to test the new thermistor. Seems to be the likely issue. Read More...
Cso November 25, 2021 for Model Number WRF535SMBW00 Freezer is reading -23 degrees with control set to 1 which is causing the Refrigerator side to freeze foods in the crisper with the frige side set to 1 as well. The damper door that controls temp in frige is opening and closing properly. I have replaced both thermistors, control board and damper unit. Cleaned coils and motor. I can't find the thermistor chart for this model to test the new thermistors. What else should I look for?
1 Answer CSO, The thermistor resistance would be 10K at 77 degrees, 29.5K @ 36 Degrees and 86.3K @0 Degrees. Typically if the damper is bad then there will be an issue with higher temperatures in the refrigerator section. This sounds like there may be a thermistor issue and would suggest testing them at the control board. Read More...
Ben September 21, 2021 for Model Number 10651713410 Food freezes in fridge side. Temperature in freezer tested to be -2F while set to 4F. Temperature in fridge tested to be 24F while set to 37F. At first I thought it was an air damper probably so I bought a brand new one and replaced it. Problem still exists. Is it possible to tell if it is a temperature sensor (fridge) problem or a main board problem without opening to check main board?
1 Answer Ben, Based on the information provided it is likely to be the sensor or the board. The sensors can be checked for resistance, if good then the board. You should have a tech sheet packaged with the refrigerator that should give you the resistance readings for the sensors. Read More...
Brian June 27, 2021 for Model Number GSS30C6EYW03 Hello. Can you tell me the location / pins on the main control board for both the freezer and fresh food thermistors? Thanks
1 Answer Brian, the sensors W10316760 would be tested at the connection P5. The refrigerator thermistor would be tested from pin 1 to pin 2 and the freezer thermistor would be tested from pin 3 to pin 4. Read More...
Brian June 27, 2021 for Model Number GSS30C6EYW03 The diffuser in my customers fridge was opening and closing continuously so I replaced it. That took care of the diffuser problem but the following morning they contacted me and said the freezer temps were ranging from -12 to 0 and the fridge side was ranging from 27 to 41 degrees. Freezer is set at 0 and the fridge at 38. I would like to test both of the temp sensors at the control board but I'm not sure of the location on the board. Unless you think the temp sensors aren't the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
1 Answer Brian, the main control W11088499 is going to be located just above the compressor compartment behind its own access panel. This kind of failure can be caused by failed thermistors or by a failing main control. Testing the sensors from the board would be the best way to identify which is the cause. Read More...
Hugh March 15, 2021 for Model Number Kitchenaid KRSF505ESS My icemaker quit working. I jumped the gun and replaced the ice making unit first and that didn't solve the problem. Before I throw more time and money at this, what would you recommend?
1 Answer Hello Hugh, the freezer temperature should read about 0-5 degrees to start, next check under the freezer door lower hinge where the wire harness connects it to the cabinet and check for any wire problems, the freezer door inner liner should depress the light switch fully. The manufacturer has included a Technical test sheet with your model it is located under/behind the front lower grill and can be used to test the ice maker. Read More...
Marc August 18, 2020 for Model Number MF12569VEM1 Maytag french door. Refrigerator evaporator in the top refrigerator below fan freezing solid. The freezer works fine. I tested both thermistors in the top refrigerator. The white thermistor located on the outside of the evap cover responds. The black thermistor attached to the evap tube does not respond. I cannot find the part or number. Please, if you could, provide me with the correct replacement thermistor part number. Black with 2 black wires attached to the connector attached to the evap tube, which also includes the white thermistor on the same harness and connector. I can only assume that this is my problem. The fan works and the flap door and motor also opens and closes. There is no defrost element in the refrigerator evaporator.
1 Answer Marc, unfortunately, the model number provided is not showing as a valid model using the description given. If the model and serial number could be verified and provided in a new inquiry, this will allow the most accurate information to be presented. Read More...
Jay July 09, 2020 for Model Number WRS970CIDM00 Diagnostic indicated the dual evaporator thermometer is shorted. Where is that part located and what is the part number?
Butch July 04, 2020 for Model Number WRF767SDEM01 Two year old refrigerator. Refrigerator coil iced up completely. The refrigerator has been repaired twice under warranty they replaced the coil thermistor. Why should the thermistors go bad so often. Before I replace it again is there something else I should look for? What is the part number for the thermistor?
1 Answer Butch, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty control board or thermistor. It would be recommended to check the thermistor for the resistance of 2.7K at 77 degrees. If the resistance is bad then the thermistor will be part number W11033168. If the thermistor checks ok then the issue will be a faulty control board. Read More...
