Roger August 09, 2013 for Model Number Number Admiral Mod#ADE7000AYW follow up question . The door switch checks good and the thermo switch on the blower housing checks closed between the large terminals and 4ohms between the small ones. Thermal fuse is closed . Thanks for your help
1 Answer Roger, The cycling thermostat WP31001192 has nothing to do with the dryer starting or running, it controls the temperatures in the drum. Based on your information and the checks you've made, this dryer should start run and heat properly ? You should start by checking and make sure that the power cord connections at the terminal block are good and tight. It is possible for the thermal fuse to circuit check OK, but not carry the return voltage to neutral source (middle terminal on block). You could TEMPORARILY attach the two wires from the fuse together, and test the dryer to start and run, DO NOT LEAVE FUSE BYPASSED, this will help verify the thermal fuse condition. If the issue still persists, you'll need to check for voltage out of the timer (120 VAC on the M terminal/orange wire) to the motor when the timer knob is pressed in to start the dryer. These are "LIVE" voltage tests, so be very careful. Read More...
Roger Young August 09, 2013 for Model Number Admiral Mod#ADE7000AYW Dryer Will not do anything. Replaced timer no change. Getting power to dryer.
1 Answer Roger, You will want to check the thermal fuse that is located on the blower housing for continuity. If there is no continuity then you would need to replace the thermal fuse. Also check the door switch with the door closed for continuity and if there is no continuity then the switch is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...

Cypress Mill May 29, 2012 for Model Number PYE2300AYW Maytag Performa Dryer model # PYE2300AYW. I am wanting to change out the tstat cycle part or cycling thermostat; however, in online research all directions say to remove the back panel of the dryer. This model does not have a back panel to remove. Where is this part located on this model of dryer? I am needing step by step instructions on how to get to the area to replace old thermostat? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Cypress Mill. Use a flat blade and release the clips under the front corners of the top panel and lift the top of the unit. Then remove the screws securing the front panel and unplug the door switch. Remove the front panel from the unit. Now you can access the cycle thermostat WP31001192 located on the blower wheel housing. Read More...
Craig November 10, 2011 for Model Number pye4557ayw Lost power to machine via bad power supply cable. Fixed that but machine will not come on. The convenience lamp won't even work? The only sign of life is the cycle timer will run.
1 Answer Hi Craig. You need to replace the thermal fuse part # LA-1053. It opens if there is a either heater short or the vent clogged. Clean the entire vent system and the outside hood or this will open again. You can try to jump the door switch part # WP53-0148. White wire on common and the white wire to the motor. Thank You. Daniel G. June 05, 2011 for Model Number pye2200ayw Replaced timer switch, but still wont stay down and dry clothes. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Daniel. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Hope this helps. Read More...
