Sue June 07, 2019 for Model Number GHW9250MLO Washer was making a horribly loud noise while spinning. When I opened it there were plastic shavings all over and the basket seems very loose. Can I use it like that? What are the parts to replace it? Thanks!
2 Answers Hello Sue, unfortunately the washer should not be used until repaired. It sounds like the tub's rear spin bearings are worn out. The bearings are located in the rear outer tub assembly W10772618, if you have plastic shavings all over you will likely need the front outer tub W10772607, if you also need the inner basket WPW10269756 it is no longer available. 2 Answers Sue, You don't really want to use the machine, at this point, more likely to damage the clothes in the tub, than the machine. At this point, the tub bearings are worn and making noise and also causing the tub to spin off balance and tap the tub and tub front, causing the shavings in the wash basket. You would need both the outer tub assemblies W10772618 and W10772607. If the spinner shaft is damaged or marled it wont be repairable, the manufacturer has discontinued the wash basket and it's not available. Read More...
Carol December 04, 2017 for Model Number GHW9250ML1 My Duet HT was making a horrible banging sound when it was spinning. Then it stopped spinning the clothes and I had to wring them out by hand when the cycle was complete. It also had a "fault 6" show up on the digital display. There have been strips of shredded plastic in the wash since the noise started. What do I need to replace, and how hard will it be to do? Thank You
1 Answer Hello Carol, You will need to replace the spin basket WPW10269756 since this is the only way to obtain the spinner support assembly (spider) on this design and most likely the outer tub assembly W10772618 since it has most likely been damaged by the bad spider assembly. This is a complete teardown and you may want to contact an experienced technician to complete the job, depending on your personal mechanical abilities. Read More...
Avis September 06, 2017 for Model Number MFW9600SQ1 There is mold on the rubber gasket at the front of the machine. It is a front loader and apparently we haven't left the door open enough for the tub to dry. What is this part called and do I need another one?
1 Answer Hello Avis. The part your needing to replace is WP8182119. You can try cleaning it, but if it does not come clean, it will need to be replaced. Thanks. Read More...
Lry August 14, 2017 for Model Number GHW9200LW When running washer it keeps spitting out pieces of plastic or fiberglass that was circular in shape. It is the piece between the drum and door side of cabinet. Is that the tub outer? If yes is it particularly hard to replace? If it is not that part please identify that part for me. Regards LRY
1 Answer Hello Lry. You will need to order W10772618, WPW10269756, and W10772607 for the parts needed. Read More...
Bobby D. December 23, 2016 for Model Number GHW9400PL0 The washer started making a loud noise and pieces of grey plastic were found inside. The grey seal seems to be intact but it is apparent that the lip of the front outer tub has been damaged a bit. The basket also does not sit evenly in the outer tub, and there seems to be a lot of play up & down. Is there supposed to be another seal or bushing that front lip of the basket rides on?
1 Answer Hello Bobby, This sounds like the spinner support assembly, (spider), on the rear of the basket has broken. You will most likely need to replace the tub seal and bearings W10772618 and spin basket WPW10269756. Read More...
Scot S. December 04, 2015 for Model Number 11049962603 Kenmore smartwash H3te I guess my bearings went on my Kenmore Washer. It makes a bit of noise in use and caused some damage to the lip that hits the door boot. Can I do small loads like this until its fixed? Will it cause more damage? I see on sears website only a service man can order the bearings kit, is there a way I can order the bearings kit myself and repair it? I watched a youtube video how to do it, I can handle that work, but I am not sure if I can even get the parts. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Scot, The parts are available W10772617 as the assembly but the bearing is not available individually. Use of the machine will cause more damage and you may also need to replace the "spider" which is available as part of inner wash basket assembly WPW10250573. Read More...
Heath September 01, 2015 for Model Number GHW9150PW4 There is a flapping noise inside my whirlpool front loader. The noise is coming from behind the metal basket. It makes noise in one spot when I hand spin the basket. The noise is on the left side. Almost sounds like a baseball card in a bike wheel. It also only makes the noise when the blades inside the basket go over the left side where the noise is. I'm assuming a foreign object got lodged behind the basket. Is there any way to get to it without completely disassembling the washing machine? Advice?
1 Answer Hello Heath. No, you will need to remove the front tub cover to access the inside and see if something is in there. Read More...
Tim February 28, 2015 for Model Number GHW9250MLI making a loud noise, you can raise the front rubber boot and as you see the tub turn it drops down in some places then raises back up and you can see part of the plastic tub being cut and tearing away. Is the tub in need of relpacing or bearings if any. Is this machine worth repairing.
1 Answer Tim, The issue with this unit would be that the spinner support for the inner basket has broken. You will need to replace the inner basket which is part number WPW10269756. Read More...
