The Whirlpool refrigerator dual solenoid icemaker water inlet valve is an OEM replacement part responsible for controlling the water flow to the refrigerator's icemaker. It is typically located at the back of the refrigerator, near the bottom, where the water supply line connects to the refrigerator. The water valve receives signals from the refrigerator's control board to open and close, allowing water to flow into the icemaker.

The Whirlpool water inlet valve can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

This part fixes the following symptoms:

  • Failure to make ice or limited ice production
  • Loud or unusual noises coming from the water valve

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Water Valve (Part Number: OEM9310407)

Hi Ct. You will need to make sure your fridge is level from side to side and front to back. Also level the ice maker. The water valve will get weak and not close all the way. Allowing the water to trickle up the back wall fill tube and into the ice maker. The water valve is part # 4318046. Thank you.

Sanjeev for Model Number GE Whirlpool ED25PQXFW00

Our water from the water dispenser keeps leaking even after the you stop pushing the lever. We collected 3-5 gallons of water to take out any bubbles. Still the problem persists. I plan to replace the water valve next. Would Water Valve part AP3103466 fit my model? I checked that my model does not have quick disconnects, but screw fitting. One nice video on youtube has Whirlpool Part# 4389177. Are they the same? Thanks for your help, Sanjeev.

Hello Sanjeev! No, 4389177 is not the same water inlet valve as the one called for our Whirlpool Refrigerator model ED25PQXFW00. For your model you will need to use part number 4318046. Thanks!

Hello Stu. Low water pressure could have a few causes on your unit. First, you will want to check for frozen water lines on the back of the freezer. A hair dryer can be used to thaw any build up. You may also want to ensure you are getting full pressure from the water source. If these two things check out, you would need to test your water valve itself. This can be done with a multi meter MA-DM1. I will include a link in this message detailing how to test various parts with a meter. I hope this info helps! http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
