No cooling from refrigerator lights worked but compressor did not run Jeff B. • Ovalo , TX • May 07, 2015
Checked compressor windings - ok. Start relay looked no rattle or burning. Start capacitor seamed ok but hard to check. No 120VC to start relay at any time. Ordered thermistor, and electronic control unit. Figuring it was a bad thermistor not telling the ECU it was warm and to turn on the compressor. Or the ECU was damaged and was not sending the 120v to the compressor. Changed the thermistor first (cheapest part and as Appliance parts pros has a return policy I wanted to start there). ...

Frigidaire gallery starts works 1min stop after short time starts and stops again keeps repeating Daniel L. • Gulfport , FL • February 09, 2020
After 10 years, the Start Device Part # AP4393517, attached to the compressor failed. I replaced it with the similar part, but not factory original and not sure if it is new from an appliance store nearby. By not being sure how long this part will last, I decided to order this part and the other parts from you, just to be on the safe side. I replaced the part myself. It was not easy to get down to the floor and a little cumbersome to remove the part because it is attached very hard to the...

Refrigerator not getting cold at all and everything thawing out compressor clicking Victor F. • West Milford , NJ • June 15, 2015
I researched the problem and determined that the only thing that can cause this was compressor bad or not starting. Since it was cold the day before I felt it had to be the starter parts and ordered them. It was also very important to clean the coil which I believe caused the over heating.

Compressor quit running Wayne S. • Millersport , OH • November 03, 2014
I want to thank you.
I was convinced that I needed a new run capacitor until talking to your rep on the phone. After describing the symptoms he suggested that I needed a new relay. He gave me info on how to meter the cap and it checked out fine. I ordered the new relay it has fixed the problem. The old one was definitely shot as I could hear it guts rattle around after I removed it. Now I don't need to buy a new freezer. That makes me happy.
Thank you!

This start relay engages the refrigerator compressor during startup so the cooling system can run. A direct-fit replacement that helps restore proper compressor starting behavior when the relay has failed. What it does:
- Provides the initial boost to the compressor motor windings to start rotation
- Stops the compressor from attempting to start when the motor stalls or relay is worn
- Commonly linked to symptoms like a refrigerator that hums but won't cool, intermittent cooling, or a compressor that won't start
- Works with compatible compressor systems that use a replaceable start relay
What's included: One start relay Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before installing to avoid shock or injury
- Locate the relay on the compressor, remove the old relay, and install the replacement matching terminal positions
